I've read that the bangs were David's fault.

Found a video showing that Mustang Mach-Es and Chevy Bolts in Chicago having the same issue: https://youtu.be/gmxg-pFzMG8?si=sYgI6GmSXil-Tvwn Turns out rideshare drivers are leasing/renting EVs and clogging charging stations causing the high wait times. Add in bitter cold, and charging infrastructure couldn't handle the influx of cars needing to charge.

I am not a Tesla fan because of Musk, but the issues reported about dead batteries have been widely misreported. All EVs are affected by cold weather, not just Teslas. Cold weather slows both the battery from taking in electricity, and the charging equipment from delivering electricity. Norway, which has the highest EV adoption rate (with about 90% of these cars being Teslas) don’t have this issue in their cold climate. The reason: Norway's EV charging infrastructure is vastly superior to the US; and Norwegian drivers understand how cold weather affects their vehicles. So the broken/slow charging equipment contributed to some of the problem, but the bulk of the blame is on the drivers not understanding how the cold affects their vehicles. Here is a good video explaining what happened: https://youtu.be/LnBI8C8Bw5I IMO, if you don't have a reliable way to charge your EV at home, then an EV may not be the best choice for you at this time. PS: Cold weather affects gasoline cars as well, but this doesn't get news coverage .... I wonder why? 🤔
