As a disabled person in the US, the use of this word is extremely common and also offensive and ableist. Thank you for speaking up.

2025-01-22 11:26:12 +0000 UTCAs someone who is disabled, and a long time Race Chaser fan, I'm really disappointed with the S slur Naomi used to describe Lexi Love's lipsync style and the lipsync song. I know in the US it's a word that isn't as offensive as over here in the UK (I've no idea about non English speaking countries), but it's on a par with that word that RuPaul used to have a song with in the title but has since dropped (the one where it opens with their drinks order). I've always felt as a similarly marginalised community who faces hate speech on a day to day basis, that on the whole LGBTQIA+ spaces are normally safe spaces for disabled people like myself, so to have the shock of what Naomi said, it was quite jarring. Also unnecessary - having watched the lipsync, I'd not describe her dance style that way - I'd say it was frenetic, rebellious and eclectic.
