Version 2 - Libraries and the Character Tree

Version 1 of DiceCloud has some limited support for storing libraries of items and spells. This is how the current SRD library works behind the scenes: it's just a special case of custom libraries that everyone has access to.

If you support DiceCloud at an Insider level, you will also have access to a beta UI that lets you create and share libraries of items across characters, and with other players.

In the Version 1 implementation this is limited to items and spells, and you can't create collections of items, like say an Adventurer's Kit. In Version 2, the approach to libraries has been completely overhauled. Everything that can be stored on a character, can now be stored in a library, added to other characters, and shared with other players.

The primary use-case for this is storing entire class levels, backgrounds, and races in a library, so if you want to roll a new level 10 Barbarian, it can be as easy as adding a background, class, and the right class (and sub-class) levels, and you're done.

This brings about the next logical problem: how are those class levels displayed on the character?

In version 1, gaining a class meant adding features, effects, items, spells, and even journal entries, scattered across your character sheet, disconnecting those features and effects from their source: a class level. In Version 2, your character is more of a folder structure. Each class level, background, feat, etc. becomes a folder into which other character properties can be stored. So when you add a class level from the library, it stays as one big folder, containing all the things that level gives you.

Your character's details can now be explored in a tree view, while the rest of the character sheet keeps the same structure as version 1, with all the features listed in the features tab, and all your spells in the spellcasting tab.

Inside the tree view, you can reorganize your character's properties, create new folders for different parts of your character, as well as re-order properties within those folders. If you change the order in the tree view, the order in other places on the character sheet will change as well.
