2020-09-11 05:27:59 +0000 UTCIn terms of how long after series 2; according to the Doctor Who time line, this is supposedly set in September 2009, a couple of months after the events of Doctor Who series 4. Torchwood series 2 is set some time before, apparently in 2008-2009. Time lines can be confusing in the who world. Itβs interesting how they talk about alien invasions in this episode as by Matt Smiths of Dr Who; the cracks in time from Series 5 are supposed to have wiped out any prior invasions, from Russell T Davies era of Who, going off the throwaway line of Amy not remembering the Daleks.
