That Episode 3 cliffhanger is one of my favourites in the whole of Who :) There's rather a big gap between this story and the next on your viewing list. This is NOT because of the quality of the stories,but because they were very badly affected by the missing episode problem; and the BBC hasn't got around to animating them yet.

2021-10-24 17:01:31 +0000 UTCGreat reaction. The Monk is played by Peter Butterworth who is instantly recognisably to anyone British of a certain age as "that guy from the Carry On movies". He's got some of the comic sensibility here but it is basically a straight role (believe me, he can turn it up to 11 when he needs to), which I think is a great touch because it adds a sense of mischief to the character, an excellent foil to the Doctor. Is he the Master? Let's just say it's not a crazy suggestion and you're not the first to think it.
