So I've finially caught up to this point in the show. I love the moments when the show switches things up. The regeneration / reinvention is one of my favourite parts of the show as a whole. It's what makes the show so unique. This time has been more difficult than previous times. I'm looking forward to revisiting each episode again in this series, to see if I get something else from it that didn't the 1st and 2nd time. Each series has had episodes that have grown on me upon multiple rewatches. The one feeling I know I will maintain, is that I will never like it as much as many of the previous series of NuWho.

2021-04-28 18:46:36 +0000 UTCThis is a decent opener for 13. I enjoyed your reaction to this. The tone feels so different as expected since it's a new era. I just love how The Doctor manages to collaborate with everyone as soon as she drops from the sky. Everyone gets a role to do in this opening episode which is nice. The Doctor revealing her identity during the crane moment was also good. Grace's death is really sad though. Very unfortunate that she died as I really liked her and would have loved to have seen her on the Tardis. I liked that moment she had with the new companions after the funeral service. The cliffhanger is also great. Regarding people not believing in aliens, that comes down to the time cracks in Series 5 pretty much wiping out events that happened in the RTD era. Don't worry, you're not the only one who finds this annoying as that's always been a gripe of mine too. The continuity of this was pretty much abandoned after Russell T Davies left Doctor Who. I think the issue however is that the cracks in time were rebooted at the end of Series 5 meaning that those events should have still been remembered by people but they weren't. I think this also comes down to not many earth based alien invasions happening in the Moffat era compared to the RTD era. It's even very difficult to consider Torchwood's Miracle Day as canon since it doesn't quite match up with the Series 6 events of Doctor Who. Russell still oversaw Torchwood and SJA after he left Doctor Who. Back in RTD's era, they used to have that mantra of certain people not believing in aliens despite seeing them as well as the media and governments hiding and covering up alien existence from the public. So it seems to be a messy mash of all these factors. You just happen to have people who believe in aliens, those that cover up the existence of aliens and those who are stupid enough to still not believe in aliens. This was quite common in some Classic Who stories that I watched too with certain people not believing in what is perceived to be impossible despite seeing it lol
