An episode with such a promising idea. But like you said, it draws less emotional connection than it probably should. I understand the theme of grief and letting go and moving on. Just poorly executed as a whole. Perhaps arguably salvageable, but they failed to stick the landing. Oh so now it's a frog... Oh ok that's quirky and trippy. Sort of like a hallucinogenic reptilian reference. Sure why not. But shouldn't it be Graham here then, since the connection is Grace related. Yet again why is The Doctor being used like a encyclopedia sales woman. I just can't get on board with this dialogue style. I really feel for Mandip, Tosin and Bradley who have been largely shortchanged by series 11 as well. I don't feel Jodie has been given the tools either. If these are the subjects that you want to write about, I'm cool with that, absolutely no criticism there. But serve them well. The three principles are to inform-educate-entertain. But as a writer of fiction you must blend those attributes throughout your script. Not perform a cut and paste method to try and get those elements in like you are performing a sort of box ticking exercise.
