There was some stuff I did like in this one. But collectively as finales go, eh not great. You know what I kept thinking about most of all during this. River's speech to 10. "You and me, time and space, you watch us run." I get it's a new part of the show. It's allowed to be different and rightly so, that phase has past now. I love change, really I do. But there's an awful lot of standing still in rooms talking, explaining the plot. Usually there might be 1 or 2 episodes a series I don't appreciate as much. I don't like that it's the reverse. 😞

2021-05-22 21:37:09 +0000 UTCI remembered not liking this story back when it aired, but I must've blocked out how much of a boring slog it was! I seriously had to break watching the reaction up into 15-20 minute chunks and take breaks in between because I was so disengaged with it all (with the plot -- not the reaction). :( Man, what a disappointing finale! And yeah, I could go on and on and on about all the issues with it, but it's just exhausting at this point. Chibnall just has ZERO idea how to make a good Doctor Who story (I mean, who the heck even cared about seeing Tim Shaw again, for example?) and episodes like this really bring that home for me. :(
