One of the coolest things about continuous traveling is that many things just happen to us. When you don’t really have a plan in life, coincidence seems to get a much bigger grip on you. Which is pretty awesome.
That’s how one day we received a message from a guy called Attila Deak. If you’re active in naturist groups on social media, the name might ring a bell. He’s a Canadian who loves to promote naturism and he messaged to inform us that he was going to be organising the first naked cruise on Lake Ontario in Toronto. And not just that, he wanted to invite us on board.
The cruise would only take half a day, but we could stay at his place for a couple of days and he would show us around some spots in Toronto. Now, you need to know that we don’t regularly accept invitations from guys to stay at their place. Although we have learned that trusting strangers can bring you to amazing places, after being naturist bloggers for more than a year (at the time), we also knew that there are quite a lot of creeps and weirdos to be found on the internet. But given Attila’s reputation as a naturist promoter, we figured that we would be in good hands. We just didn’t realise yet how much!
When we entered the arrival hall in Toronto airport, we immediately spotted a huge smile owned by a guy holding a balloon and a bouquet of flowers. Within the next hours, Attila took us for creamy coffee, to a place to taste poutine (the typical dish in Canada) and to the supermarket to get beers. The next day we visited Pondorosa nudist resort and then the day of the cruise came. Which was absolutely amazing. We were with about 50 naked people on a boat on Lake Ontario, dancing, playing games, and looking at the Toronto skyline. Happily waving at the flabbergasted faces of the people in the other boats in the lake.
The end of the afternoon came way too early, but Attila had yet another surprise in mind. Soon, we found ourselves on another boat towards Ontario’s only official nude beach: Hanlan’s Point. We could barely imagine a better way to end this amazing day. With a bunch of new friends we watched the sunset on the warm sands of the nude beach.
This was back in the summer of 2018. Due to several reasons, the 2019 cruise got canceled and then COVID hit, so the 2020 and 2021 cruise canceled as well. This means that we can still proudly say that we have been on the ONLY naked cruise on Lake Ontario ever. But we do hope that this will change soon though. It was such a great experience and we wish that many others may experience this too in the next years!
