MSN-04II Nightingale Ver. Witnesstheabsurd
Added 2021-06-14 00:38:54 +0000 UTCFinished! After several delays due to both client work and personal stuff, the Nightingale Ver. Witnesstheabsurd is ready for deployment. I really wanna pursue this line and do more biomecha renditions of Gundam designs - It feels like one of the best ways to gain a more intimate understanding of the thought process behind a given design on behalf of the original designer.... For me, this kind of reinterpretive work feels like opening a dialogue with the design itself. While I can't claim to have a more profound understanding of Yutaka Izubuchi's body of work after this piece I certainly feel like I have a deeper appreciation for what he accomplished with the Nightingale design, and I hopefully do understand a little more about how I want to approach mech and creature design myself going forwards. Mecha design for me has always sat at this fascinating crossroads between fashion, hard surface, character and creature design disciplines, and it endlessly compels me.
Also, I finally got my first shot! I feel a little sore but otherwise not that under the weather, thankfully. Hope everyone is well!
