“Morning.”Rosalie greeted Bella when she walked out of the bathroom freshly showered and dressed. Rosalie was happy to see Bella because she had missed her mate. Yes they had been together all day the day before but Bella had been occupied with work. The human had even eaten lunch and dinner at her desk and didn’t give Rosalie any attention. Rosalie couldn’t complain to Bella about it though. Rosalie wasn’t in Bella’s apartment to socialize. Bella didn’t invite her in willingly. Rosalie was there for Bella’s protection. She actually should be thankful Bella didn’t make her stay outside her door. It was just hard for Rosalie to spend so much time with her mate without interacting with her. It felt like torture being so close to Bella and not having Bella’s complete focus. Rosalie hoped that Bella finished most of her work and would have time for them to spend together at least in the afternoon.

“Is everything alright?”Bella asked seeing the angry face Rosalie was sporting.

Rosalie looked at her phone.”Edward being the asshole he is wrecked one my cars on purpose to punish me for keeping you away from him.”

“What a psycho.”The more Bella found out about Edward the less impressed she was. Making her way to the kitchen Bella grabbed everything needed to make a bowl of cereal and put it on the table before taking a seat. Rosalie sat across from her.

“That’s an accurate description of him.”Rosalie frowned as she looked at the pictures Edward sent her.”I don’t think the car is salvageable.”

“Were you attached to the car or was it just one you were going to sell?”Bella was already mid plan depending on Rosalie’s answer.

“Carlisle makes me sell all my project cars. He says that a teenage girl fixing them brings a lot of attention. If I drove one people would catch on that I’m not human.”Rosalie didn’t believe that but Carlisle controlled the coven’s resources so she couldn’t go off on her own.

“I bet the real reason is that Edward isn’t good at anything and Carlisle doesn’t want you outshining him. That and Carlisle is probably as sexist as Edward.”Bella thought Carlisle seemed like the type that didn’t believe women shouldn’t do any type of work outside the household.

“I never really thought about what his real reasons for telling me that were but I could see him not wanting Edward to be outshined. Edward has no talents other than he can play the piano. Some of the cars I have restored have won big named awards. Edward has achieved even less than I have since he was turned. Also you are right about Carlisle being sexist. When I first joined his family he wouldn’t even let me go school because he said that school was only for men and that a woman’s mind was to simple to understand the information taught at schools.”Rosalie had a nice screaming match with Carlisle about that. The man had relented after Esme complained about Rosalie’s attitude and her refusal to learn any skills needed to be a housewife.

“He gave off that vibe when I met him. So what are you going to do about the car? Were you counting on the money from the sale?”Bella asked.

“I can’t do anything about the car. Edward made sure it could never be fixed again. He wrecked every inch of the car he could. As for the money I don’t need it to live but I have been trying very hard to save enough so that I can support myself and don’t have to be a part of Carlisle’s family anymore. It a slow process because I have to use the money I make to invest into the next project car and all the parts I need to fix it. With Carlisle not letting me fix more expensive cars I don’t a big profit off of the ones I sell. So Edward just cost me about $70000. That leaves a big mark on my savings.”Rosalie had been trying for a little over twenty years to make enough to leave. That was when Carlisle finally agreed to let her have a functioning garage and she had saved enough money to buy tools and the first project car.

“Is that the only way you have of making money or do you have investments?”Bella didn’t understand why Rosalie went along with what Carlisle said but she wasn’t one of Rosalie’s species. It could be perfectly normal to them.

“I have no clue how to invest. Neither does Carlisle for that matter. Tanya does have person she uses but I am nowhere near wealthy enough to be their client.”Rosalie likely would never be wealthy enough to be their client.

“If you trust me enough I can help you. I manage all my own investments and I do alright.”Bella offered.

“I think based on you net worth you do better than alright and I would be beyond grateful if you wold help me.”Rosalie was smart enough to know that she would get no better help than Bella’s. Not only was Bella her mate the human gained nothing from helping Rosalie. That meant Rosalie didn’t have to worry about being screwed over.

“It’s no problem. We will set some time aside later to get started.”Bella didn’t mind helping Rosalie.”Do you have other cars you need to worry about?”

Rosalie winced.”I have three more project cars in various states of repair int he garage. I got a text from Irina saying they would protect them but I don’t trust Edward. That and I don’t think it’s fair for them to have to protect my cars 24/7.”

“I have a place outside of the city that you could store them. The garage is big enough and it’s very secure. If Edward couldn’t manage the elevator he wouldn’t have a chance of breaking in.”Bella knew that Edward couldn’t gain access to the building.

“What kind of place?”Rosalie assumed that Bella just lived in her apartment.

“I’m only telling you because you are my link. The place is actually my real home. I just use this apartment to stay at when I have to be in the office or have a court date. I spend the weekends there and my days off a work.”Bella didn’t like telling anyone about her actually home but figured Rosalie being her link was trustworthy.

“That’s why this place is so simple and there are no personal touches. You don’t even have any artwork on the walls.”Rosalie had just assumed that Bella like things uncluttered.

“I don’t spend much time in here.”Bella only stayed at the apartment when it didn’t make sense to go home.

“What about the robot though? Why is it here?”Rosalie asked.

“It was just the project I decided to work on here when I had some down time or needed a break from work. I have other projects I work on at home in my lab.”Bella told her.

Rosalie stared at Bella in shock.”Let me get this straight. You have a home that has a garage that can store all three of my cars with tough enough security that Edward wouldn’t be able to get them. Where you have a lab you work on projects other than the robot in?”

“Yes.”Bella didn’t see what the big deal was.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this?”Rosalie would have liked to know about where her mate lived.

”It wasn’t something I wanted people to know about. After spending time with you I find trustworthy enough to know the location. I just ask that you not tell anyone.”Bella trusted Rosalie.

“I wouldn’t tell anyone but I think you should know something. Some people like me have what we call gifts. It means they have abilities that not everyone has. Edward has the ability to read minds. Meaning that if he was near me he could get the information out my head.”Rosalie smiled sheepishly at Bella.

Bella pinched the bridge of her nose.”That means everything I have told you Edward would know the moment you are near here?”

“Basically. There are ways to trick his gift that I have learned from living with him for so long. They aren’t foolproof though. I should also add you yourself have a gift. You mind is shielded from Edward. He can’t hear your thoughts at all.”Rosalie was regretting not telling Bella this before.

“That means I can’t take you to my house.”Bella couldn’t risk it.

“I desperately want to go to your house but I don’t think it would be smart.”Rosalie hated having to say that. She was being truthful. She desperately wanted to see Bella’s private space but Rosalie didn’t want to lead Edward there.

“How is this situation going to end? I can’t hide in my apartment all day and stop living my life. How do we make them stop?”Bella wasn’t going to continue living like this.

“I’m not supposed to tell you this but I’m going to because you deserve to know what you’re involved in.”Rosalie didn’t care if she got yelled at for telling Bella the truth.

“I think I deserve to know too.”Bella hated being kept in the dark about things concerning her own life.

“The only way this ends is for you to change into what I am. That will prove that Edward’s claim is false because once you are turned you feel the same why I do about you now about me. Then if Edward still persist we can go before the kings and get him in trouble for the false claim. We could go to the kings now but they are not a fan of humans and will likely kill you. No one wanted to tell you this because they were afraid it would put pressure on you.”Rosalie tried to gauge Bella’s reaction but her face was blank.

“What exactly does it mean to one of you?”Bella wanted all the facts before she made her decision.

Rosalie thought that question was a good one and it was nice that Bella wasn’t freaking out.”Being one of means that you no longer have a human body. When changed your body becomes harder than a rock. You get super speed, your reflexes are lighting fast, you don’t sleep or eat human food. You have better eyesight. For you specifically you would feel overwhelming amounts of affection towards me the first time we make eye contact. You become immortal and never age unless someone kills you or there is some freak accident. I can’t think of anything else right now.”

“Would I be able to keep my job?”Bella asked.

“No because the changes will be very noticeable to the people you know. However what my kind does is create fake identities to live amongst humans then when it becomes obvious you aren’t aging move and start over again.”Rosalie still wasn’t sure what Bella was thinking.

“Do you want me to be like you?”Bella wanted Rosalie’s opinion.

“I want you to make the choice but if it were up to me I would want you to be like me.”Rosalie knew it was selfish but she wanted eternity with her mate.

“And there is no other way to stop Edward and Carlisle?”Bella needed to know all her options.

“We could kill them but the kings would punish us and that would lead to them finding out about you. We can report them to the kings but once again they would find out about you. Other than you being changed we would just have to continue like this until you died because they aren’t going to stop. They won’t go to the kings either because Edward knows it will lead to his death.”Rosalie was starting to get uncomfortable with Bella’s lack of reaction.

Bella thought everything through. She didn’t have much to think about. It was either stay human and be hunted by Edward and Carlisle for the rest of her life or turn into whatever Rosalie was. Then she would be forced to give up her life and spend entirety pretending to be other people. That and she would apparently wake up madly in love with Rosalie. Bella thumped her head on the table.”Why did you approach me at the bar? Eveything was smooth sailing until you insulted me.”

“I am truly sorry for this. I treated you horribly in the beginning then I brought a serious danger into your life. I am a shitty link. You deserve better.”Rosalie did feel bad for Bella. The human really did deserve better. Thus whole situation just made her hatred for Edward grow. If he wasn’t claiming the false mate bond Bella wouldn’t forced to make the decision so soon.

“Do I have to wait until I get my cast off to be changed?”Bella asked.

“I don’t know. I can ask Tanya if you want.”Rosalie offered.

“Please do. As for the rest I need to finish up the current cases I’m working on then I can step away from my life. Which will be easy because I only interact on a personal level with my secretary and her family. We aren’t close though so they wouldn’t try to contact me in the future. Can I still keep my other properties or do I have to give those up as well?”Bella wasn’t happy about giving up her life but she couldn’t stand the thought of running from Edward for the rest of her life.

Rosalie found herself once again staring at Bella in shock.”You want to be changed?”

“You said that Edward is never going to go away. I would rather give up my entire life to become one of you than spend my human years being hunted by Edward and Carlisle.”Bella didn’t think there was really much of a choice.

“We could protect you if you wanted you stay human.”Rosalie told her.

“I’m not willing to risk Edward one day getting passed one of you. I prefer being one of you than ever being Edward’s anything.”Bella knew that Edward would eventually get her. He was obsessed with her and nothing was changing his mind.

“Let me text Tanya.”Rosalie was trying not to show her excitement at the news. It was hard though because she was going to get to spend eternity with her mate. As expected Tanya called instead of texting back. Rosalie answer it and put it on speaker phone for Bella to hear.”Hello.”

“Rosalie what the fuck? Why are you asking about changing Bella?”Tanya asked.

“Bella and I talked about the Edward situation and she asked me how to get them to leave her alone. I explained all our options and she wants to become one of us.”Rosalie explained.

“She doesn’t have to turn to stay safe. We can protect her.”Tanya said.

“I’m sure you believe that but I’m not going chance it. Edward is beyond dangerous and with hunt me until the day I die if I stay human. With his gift he will probably succeed in capturing me and I have no doubt he will do unimaginable things to me once he has me. I would anything to get away Edward even if that means I have to give up my human life I think it’s worth it. Then once I turned we can report him and Carlisle to the kings to be punished for putting us through all this nonsense.”Bella’s mind was set. She was going to be changed.

“I would like to say you are wrong but I can’t. Edward would hunt you until the day you died and he most likely would succeed in capturing you no matter what we did. I just don’t like that you are being forced to make this choice. I and everyone else had hoped you would have time to think everything though. Not agree to turning so you don’t get kidnapped and tortured.”Tanya’s voice was laced with regret.

“I’m thinking this is a sign that maybe I wasn’t meant to be a lawyer and I should focus on my true passion. A passion that doesn’t involve humans.”Bella would take this as a divine intervention in her life.

“We would have plenty of time for me to help you finish your robot.”Rosalie looked forward to spending hours in Bella’s lab working on projects.

“You have a robot?”Kate’s voice asked.

“Bella went to MIT and got a job at NASA when she was 12. She has the knowledge and skills to make an actual working space shuttle.”Rosalie smiled when more than one voice started talking at once. Seeing Bella roll her eyes Rosalie winked at her mate.

“Everyone calm down.”Tanya yelled causing the line to go silent.”I didn’t realize the government job you said you had was at NASA Bella.”

“I worked there while I went to law school and quit when I was 17 with a standing invitation to return at any time.”Bella had considered it once or twice but was glad she didn’t do it.

“Shit Rosalie how did you end up with someone super smart?”Emmet asked.

“Hey I am very smart!”Rosalie was insulted Emmett implied otherwise.

“Anyway.”Bella didn’t want to talk to everyone anymore.”I have made my decision. I’m going to finish the cases I’m working on currently then I’m going to close my practice and be done with my human life. I was wondering if I have wait until my cast is taken off to be changed?”

“No while you are changing it will repair anything wrong with your body to include broken bones.”Eleazar said.

“Where exactly are you planning to do this?”Tanya asked.

“I don’t know the details of what will happen. We just talked about what choices I had and what happens to my body after I chance and how I will live in the world.”Bella hoped it wasn’t big production.

“I haven’t told her we were vampires and we live off animal blood instead of human blood yet. I wanted her to be sure before I took the choice from her.”Rosalie looked to Bella feeling relieved she wasn’t reacting negatively to what Rosalie revealed.

“How does one change into a vampire?”Bella wasn’t surprised that Rosalie was a vampire. It kind of made sense if she thought about it.

“To change a human a vampire bites them and injects them with their venom. That starts the change which last for three is days. The human feels unbearable pain the entire time. Unfortunately there is no way to take away the pain. After you wake up you will have an uncontrollable thirst that will only be quenched with blood. Most vampires drink human blood by my family and Rosalie’s family only drink from animals. It’s why our eyes are gold not red.”Tanya explained.

“I won’t be expected to join one of your families will I?”Bella didn’t want to answer to someone else.

“It’s safer of you during your newborn phase to stay with a coven so they can teach you how to adapt to your new body and life. They also teach you all the rules and laws for vampires. That said myself and my family would love to welcome you into ours.”Tanya offered.

Bella thought about her choices. It was either Tanya or Carlisle. Bella found it an easy decision.”I would be honored to join your family.”

“Yes.”Kate cheered.

“That’s wonderful Bella.”Irina said.

“Oh man. I wanted her to teach how to build a space shuttle.”Emmet complained.

“Was there anything else I need to know?”Bella needed to get back to work.

“Not right now but if you have time I would like to meet with you to introduce you to your new family and talk about logistics.”Tanya told her.

“You can come over to my apartment if you want. I can take break from work to speak to you.”Bella wanted to make plans for her future and now that she was attached to Tanya’s family she wouldn’t be able to without talking to them.

“We will leave now then.”Tanya said.

“Text Rosalie when you get to the elevator and she will come get you.”Bella just hoped Edward hadn’t been around for the conversation.

“We will see you soon.”Tanya said before the call disconnected.

“Well it looks like you already found yourself a coven to belong to.”Rosalie didn’t like that Bella wasn’t going to be a Cullen but understood her choice.

Bella stood and put her dishes in the sink, the milk in the fridge and the cereal back in the cabinet.”Can’t you belong to them too?”

“I would have to speak to Tanya then talk to Carlisle. They are both the leaders of their coven and are the authority for their families. I predict that Carlisle will not react well to me leaving.”Rosalie could guarantee that Carlisle would not react well to her leaving.

“Since you don’t have a lot of money would Tanya’s family take care of you financially as well?”Bella asked.

“That’s a perked of being a coven member. I can’t actually wait until you tell them how you are worth. They are going to be shocked by how much money you have.”Rosalie was looking to forward to their reactions.

“I won’t be expected to give them control of my money will I.”Bella didn’t want to give away all she earned for her hard work.

Rosalie shook her head.”Not with the Denali which is the name of Tanya’s coven. They allow each member to have their own wealth. They may ask you to chip in for things for the coven or maybe help with investing but they won’t demand you give them your money.”

“I would have been very unhappy if they had.”Bella went about making herself a cup of coffee. Once she finished she made her way over to the couch, sat down, picked up the remote and turn the tv onto the world news station.

Rosalie took a seat on the opposite side of the couch.”I would be upset to if I were you.”

“With me now deciding to be one of you and joining a coven I think it’s alright to move your cars if you still want to.”Bella offered.

“I don’t know how I would get them there.”Rosalie didn’t know any tow truck companies.

“Text me your address and tell whoever is at your home to expect someone to come pick them up within an hour.”Bella told her as she put cup down, stood and walked over to her computer.

Rosalie followed Bella’s instructions.”What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to hire someone to get your three cars and drive them to my home and put them in the garage. I need to do that from here because I have to reprogram my security system to give them access to the garage.”Bella explained.

“Thank you.”Rosalie said getting a hum of acknowledgment in reply. Turning towards the tv Rosalie thought about the morning. Never would she have imagined that when Bella woke up it would lead to the human deciding to become a vampire. Rosalie had plans to drop hints here and there while she did her best to male Bella fall in love with her. Rosalie almost felt like she should thank Edward for being such an asshole. Not that she would of course. It was just his actions fast tracked her relationship with Bella. Rosalie shook her head thinking about how far they had come. Rosalie started her relationship with Bella stuck in the mindset Bella would be the perfect housewife. How wrong Rosalie had been. She was happy she was wrong though. Bella was an extraordinary person who would never be held down by such a degrading role. Rosalie wasn’t even sure anymore why she wanted a housewife for a mate to begin with. Especially when her mate was Bella. Rosalie thought a space shuttle was a hell of a lot cooler than opening the day folding towels. If Rosalie had to guess Bella’s robot probably knew how to fold towels.
