To Turn Back Time 9

“When you said they had a track to race dirt bikes I thought it was going to be a crappy track that was set up by a handful of wolves not what we just raced on. Then to be invited into the arena to drive monster trucks was epic.”Kate gushed. The group who went to the reservation spent the first half of the day shopping with Isabella stopping to eat. After Isabella had her meal they decided to ride dirt bikes. Kate had expected a lame home made course but she had happily been wrong. The course was professionally made and meticulously maintained in an indoor event center that was used exclusively for dirt bike racing. The track was actually a dedicated stop on the sports main competition tour. The wolves had shut it down for the day for them to have exclusive access so they didn’t have to hold back. They were even giving as many bikes as they needed no matter how many the wrecked. It that wasn’t cool enough a few hours later one of the wolves came over to invite them all to drive some of the monster trucks that were in town to put on a show at the arena located on the reservation. Everyone but Isabella took a chance with the time traveler claiming she had a thing about heights. Kate had started to question Isabella about it but Tanya had told her to leave it alone.

“I had a great time. Especially because we didn’t have to be careful with the bikes and driving the monster truck was pretty rad.”Emmett had a great time all day. He was able to get his hands on some extremely rare video games he couldn’t wait to get home and play. Isabella had taken all the family’s shopping home to Alaska so there was no chance of the Cullens wrecking anything.

“I love driving my car but I will admit it was fun driving a monster truck.”Rosalie loved all vehicles and never thought she would ever get the chance to drive a monster truck. She was really happy she did and wouldn’t pass up the chance to do it again.

“The wolves not only really respect you but they have obvious love for you that they don’t try to hide.”Eleazar had also enjoyed driving the monster truck and the dirt bikes. It wasn’t often they got the chance to do something so human without having to pretend they weren’t vampires.

“They love and respect me because when I spoke to the original wolves I explained exactly what I needed from them. I told them my request was a selfish one and I would understand if they didn’t want to help me. I then went on to say what I could offer in return for their help and gave them a token of good will by giving them the blocks and explaining who the vampires they were going to meet were and what their gifts were. I told them I could offer them wealth and a promise to be a silent guardian to the reservation and the tribe members. To prove I was willing I immediately started putting money into the reservation by building better houses for every resident and then brought in businesses and gave each tribe member a living stipend. I set up funds specifically for the wolves to cover their food costs and giving them a way to support their families because they couldn’t work. I started this six months before the Cullens showed up. When they did Edward was extremely rude to them then tried to fight the alpha and Carlisle spoke down to all of them like they were children when one of the wolves at the time had two centuries on the coven leader the wolves realized that I was trustworthy. After that day I have been a secret passed down to each generation of wolves and have continued to be active in making sure the reservation and the tribe thrives. No matter what timeline.”Isabella took her promise seriously and would look after the wolves for the rest of her life.

“You did all that so they wouldn’t kill the Cullens?”Irina wouldn’t have gone to such extreme measures.

“No not just so they wouldn’t kill the Cullens. The first timeline I met the tribe they were close to destitute and could barely afford to feed themselves let alone pay the wolves’ living expenses. There were no jobs to be had and the houses were falling down and over crowded. They were also isolated from other shifters. For some reason one of their ancestors wrote a bunch of what he called were journals about his life. They were actually untrue stories that made the author sound like the first wolf shifter that ever existed. They didn’t even know there were any other type of shifters in the world.”Isabella shook head thinking about it.”They would have been fine against the Cullens the first time and wouldn’t have died facing the newborns so they didn’t need me to interfere. The reason I did was I just couldn’t accept that they were living below the poverty line isolated because one of their ancestors was an asshole who wanted glory. That is why I helped them so much.”

“Could you go back in time and mess with the guy who wrote the journals?”Rosalie asked.

“I did go back and mess with the guy who wrote the original journals. I collected all his journals after he died and rewrote them to my preference. That is the reason the wolves no longer think they are the only shifters in the world and why they don’t think female shifters are abominations like they did the first time I encountered them. Now they see female shifters as a blessing from the gods that are held in high respect.”Isabella explained.

“They thought female shifters were abominations?”Carlisle had never heard anything so silly.

Isabella nodded.”Leah in the original timeline was shunned and treated like she was a cancer to the pack. The elders were the worse offenders. That situation was why I did away with the elders being in charge of the wolves. In this timeline the elders have to ask the wolves for permission to do anything on the reservation and for the money to do it. Originally the elders didn’t have jobs and lived off the money that went to support the wolves even though they were not shifters. I changed that as well. If you aren’t shifter, imprint of a shifter or an underaged child of the shifter you have to support yourself. The only ones who benefit from the allocated shifters funds fall under those types of people. If you are a human who has a child who is a shifter the pack will take care of the child’s expenses but the parents have to take care of themselves. It may sound harsh but the amount of greed the people of this generation showed and the lack of care for the very beings protecting their lands have shaped my view and I want to prevent it from happening again.”

“If that is how they acted before you came along I would have made the same rules.”Kate said.

“They were stealing money that the shifters needed to survive and support their families with while they refused to get jobs. I would have done a lot worse to them.”Rosalie would have done something extreme to the elders for abusing their own protectors.

“Trust me them not having access to the money and all the perks that the wolves are entitled to is the worst punishment they can get. Leah’s father is one of the elders and he’s constantly begging her for money and new cars. He wants to move into Leah’s house because it’s the biggest one on the reservation and Leah has a private chef, a housekeeper, a landscaper and a driver. Her parents live in a four bedroom two story home that is a nice place that anyone would be proud of. It’s not enough for her parents though. They want the biggest and the best. When Leah became voted the first female alpha by the pack her father actually tried to stop it from happening and then when he realized that he couldn’t stop it he started using Leah’s title to get things like free stuff and vip treatment everywhere he went.”Isabella told them.

“How did Leah react to him doing that?”Tanya figured not good.

“She was pissed. To punish him she called a reservation wide meeting which even non tribe members go to and is held on the beach to fit everyone. They actually close all businesses so everyone can attended. When everyone was there she called her father up to stand with her in front of the crowd. The idiot man thought that she was going to praise him or tell everyone to treat him better because he was grinning the whole time. That expression changed into a scowl when Leah proceeded to announce that if anyone gave her father special treatment to include any perks or free items they would be kicked off the reservation. If he tried to fight with anyone about it they were to send for one of the security team and they would deal with him personally. She also said if he had already pressured anyone into giving him things or doing anything for him to let one of the security team know so that she could have her father pay them for it. After that Leah dismissed the crowd and walked away without saying a word to her father. The only time she has spoken to him since is to collect the money that he needed to pay the people he conned. Other than that he tries everything he can to get on her good side and begs for forgiveness.”Isabella had witnessed the meeting and was proud of the way Leah handled it.

“What’s her mother like?”Emmet bet her mother was just like her father.

“Her mother is a bitch who regardless of what the wolves believe thinks that Leah is cursed and her soul is corrupted due to her being a female shifter. She has paid crazy shamans and other insane people who claim to be able to lift the curse off her that has put Leah in some dangerous traumatic situations. Leah lived with her parents for two months after she shifted before the acting alpha and his imprint took her in. Her brother Seth shifted about six months ago and he lives with the same couple Leah did. She would have taken him but as the alpha and not having an imprint she wouldn’t be able to give him a stable home life. The couple he is living with the imprint already has a child so she is handling Seth better than his parents ever did.”Isabella was impressed with Sam and Emily.

“It’s good that there is a system in place for shifters who have tough home lives.”Irina wouldn’t want a shifter to grow up abused and become an extremely angry person that would be dangerous to the public.

“There is a system in place for all domestic issues. Even for non shifters. They don’t have a police force the shifter’s are part of a security company that gives them each a legal way to get a paycheck for tax reasons. It’s only staffed by current shifters and shifters who have decided to stop shifting. By being the security for the reservation it gives them an excuse to be involved in all the problems that come up on the reservation. Be it laws being broken, fights, car theft anything that they are supposed to be doing anyway but would look weird if they were just random citizens being involved.”Isabella set up the security company during her initial visit. It was to prepare the wolves for the influx of people who were going to try and take their land by force from them. This timeline the wolves had twice as much real estate than they did the first time Isabella met them.

“You really have gone to great lengths to help them. Even if they were destitute you have gone above what anyone else would have done for them. Especially because all you needed them for was to not kill the Cullens during that first meeting.”Carmen didn’t know why Isabella would dedicate so much time to the wolves.

“Honestly even I don’t know why I took a shine to the wolves. I think I was just so shocked and offended on the wolves’ behalf by the way they were being treated. I actually was invited to a bonfire with the original elders I met. Not the first ones who met the Cullens. I sat on the beach for hours listening to their stories and heard how the elders berated the shifters for things that were out of their control. Then there was all comment the elders made about Leah and how they would yell at anyone who tried to defend her. All those kids were stuck in an abusive situations being control by three men who had no power over them or understanding of their purpose. They didn’t even tell the shifters anything about themselves until they shifted. They each found out they were a wolf the first time they turned into one. Poor Sam and Leah had been dating for four years and planning a wedding when two days after he shifted Sam found his imprint. He had no clue about imprints. The truly horrible thing was the elders wouldn’t let him tell anybody what was going on. So Sam couldn’t even explain to Leah why they were breaking up. All Leah knew was that her fiancé left her suddenly with no explanation for her cousin.”Isabella had made sure that all shifters were told about imprints so that their hearts or anyone else’ didn’t get broken.

“He wasn’t told about imprinting?”Rosalie was surprised to hear that. She didn’t know many shifters but she knew enough to know that imprinting was taught as soon as the child could understand the concept.

“He wasn’t told about anything. They wouldn’t even give him the false journals. The elders hoarded all the knowledge they had on the wolves and only gave it out if they wanted to. They didn’t tell Sam the alpha anything about how to actually be an alpha nor did they tell him that the alpha isn’t the first one who turns they are elected by the pack. Which Sam would have liked to know because he hated being alpha. I guess I got more attached then I realized now that I’m talking about it. I do know that my intervention with the wolves made it so the wolves stopped skipping generations and all future generations after had wolves born into them. Plus I have introduced the wolves to different shifters all around the world. To include the ones that merged with Leah’s pack.”Isabella thought the wolves were much better off than when Isabella found them.

“So now that they know about imprints do the wolves date at all or do they all save themselves?”Irina hadn’t saved herself but wished she had. Especially knowing Isabella had only ever been with her.

“After I explained that a shifter would feel overwhelming shame and guilt when they met their imprint if they had a relationship be it physical or romantic that they wouldn’t be completely able to overcome meaning they would feel it to some degree of the rest of their lives most of the wolves don’t want to chance it. Especially after they had seen the proof of it happening throughout their history. Because of that they take finding an imprint very seriously. Their entire romantic future depends on being matched with theirs.”Isabella explained.

“It’s not that intense with a vampire. When I locked eyes with you I didn’t feel guilty or ashamed of my past. I forgot about it all together because it no longer mattered anymore. Any and every person I was entangled with became meaningless and I will never look back and have any feelings other than indifference about them.”Irina wasn’t ashamed nor did she feel guilty she just would prefer to have Isabella been her only partner.

“How do you feel knowing that Irina has had so many partners over the years while you have been busy trying to give her a happy life?”Kate was genuinely curious how Isabella felt about Irina sleeping around while the human was working her ass off to make sure Irina was safe and happy.

Irina hissed at Kate.”Don’t ask her that.”

“It’s a valid question.”Rosalie wanted to know as well.

Isabella gave the question some thought.”It’s kind of hard to answer that question. In the first time line Irina and I were each other’s first and only. Then when I changed the time line the first time and returned back to my original time everything was of course different. I didn’t understand how my gift worked yet so I wasn’t sure if you three of you would even remember me. So when I set off trying to find you I lucked out because Sasha was living in the same town as she did in the original timeline. The difference was the type of house she was living in. Instead of the grand manor, horse stables and manicured lawns she was living on the out skirts of town in a two bedroom home with the three of you. I observed the three of you for a while and waited until Sasha left to knock on your door. Kate was the one who opened it and immediately started telling me all the crude things she wanted to do me. I hadn’t even said a word before she did it.”

“Of course she did.”Tanya expected no less.

“How did you respond?”Irina made a mental note to beat on her sister later for hitting on her mate.

“I laughed. Which made Kate pause. During that pause Tanya came to see what was going on. She asked me who I was and that was confirmation I needed that they were no longer the people I knew and let me tell if is utterly devastating thinking you are going to change the world for better and then when you do you realize you have lost everything in the process.”Isabella felt that devastation every time.

“I can’t even imagine how that felt.”Eleazar wasn’t sure he would want to be a time traveler after hearing about what it was like for Isabella.

“What did you do when you realized that?”Rosalie asked.

“I asked if Irina was home. Which she was she was just occupied with a man in her bedroom. So not only did I change the timeline to live a happy life with my abused mate but when I met up with her she was currently cheating on me. In my mind I knew it wasn’t Irina’s fault but the betrayal and heart break I felt made me physically ill to the point I vomited off the side of the step in front of Tanya and Kate. They both asked if I was alright and after a couple deep breaths I assured them I was and apologized for bothering them. I then turned around and walked away.”Isabella had felt like a fool when she showed up on the sisters’ doorstep.

“Sweetheart I’m so sorry.”Irina didn’t like the idea of Isabella’s first attempt at saving herself, Irina and her sisters that after she seceded she caught Irina her mate who she had done all the hard work for basically cheating on her.

“It wasn’t your fault. You didn’t know. It hurt but I knew logically you wouldn’t have done it if you knew.”Isabella had gotten over it a long time ago.

“What happened when you walked away?”Emmett wanted to know Isabella did.

“I walked for a while until Kate came and told me the man was gone and if I would like to see Irina she was still at the house. I weighed my options. I had no allies, no way to support myself as a human and I didn’t understand my gift but each of the sisters had kept me sane in the original timeline. That made me go back to the house with Kate. Along the way Kate asked me dozens of question mostly revolving around the way I was dressed. That being in battle armor from the future and carrying weapons that no one had even thought of inventing yet. Kate was convinced I was there to kill Irina. When I asked Kate if that were true why was she leading me back to her Kate told me that she bored and wanted to see if I would actually pose a threat.”Isabella smiled when most of the van laughed.

“Classic Kate. Offers up on her sister to an assassin because she was bored.”Rosalie thought that was exactly what Kate would do.”What did you do when you go to the house?”

“Kate led me inside through the small front hallway into a living room where Irina was looking out the window with her back to me. Without turning to face me she started complaining about sending the man away because of me and told me that if she couldn't find another bed partner for the night that she would drain me instead.”Isabella gave Irina a sad smile when the blond took her hand.

“Jesus Irina.”Kate couldn’t believe Irina treated Isabella like that.

“Like I said no matter how much it hurt me emotionally it wasn’t her fault. Anyway she was mid rant of how painful she would make my death when she finally turned around and made eye contact with me. Her face quickly flipped back and forth between emotions. The major ones being shock, elation, confusions, horror, and happiness. It was when she got her bearings that the horror she felt came in full force. Realizing what she had done she began apologizing for invited the man in her bedroom and not kicking his out when I showed up. She told me she extremely sorry for threatening me and that she didn’t mean it nor was she ever going to look for another bed partner ever again. Then she fell to her knees in from of me and began sobbing blabbing nonsense I couldn’t understand. She stayed like that for fifteen minutes until Tanya finally intervened. I asked Tanya later why she let it go on that long and Tanya said that Irina deserved to be punished for the way she treated me.”Bella didn’t think Irina needed to be punished at all.

“I really can’t say how sorry I am that I did that and treated you like that.”Irina was appalled by her behavior.

“It wasn’t you fault. You had been alive a lot longer during that time line than you were during the original one.”Isabella told her.

“What did you do when Irina calmed down?”Tanya asked pulling into Isabella’s driveway. Isabella had been using her shield to block sound from inside the van so it was safe to talk on the way home.

Isabella unlocked the front door and entered the house. Turning on some lights she was unsurprised by the condition of the home. Although if was usually disgusting and filthy the house had been ransacked and destroyed. Making her way into the living room Isabella took a seat on the broken couch.”Charlie is going to be pissed about his chair and tv.”

“What the fuck did those morons do?”Kate looked into the kitchen and noticed it was trashed worse than the living room. Even the refrigerator and stove had been broken beyond being fixed.

Irina ran up the stairs and looked in both Isabella’s and Charlie’s room. Everything was ruined. Making her way downstairs Irina walked into the living room.”Everything upstairs in both rooms are worse. They even wrecked the bathroom.”

“We should have stayed with Leah.”Isabella felt stupid of not thinking of that sooner.

“Can you put the noise on for us and we can discuss things because I have no doubt they will be showing up soon.”Tanya wanted some privacy to talk.

“Sure if they didn’t wreck my stereo.”Bella stood from the couch and made her way out of the room.

“Can we all agree that the Cullens are fucking psychos?”Emmett asked.

“They are a bunch of maniacs. Who wrecks a bathroom?”Kate didn’t understand how she didn’t catch on to how insane her cousins were.

“Good news they didn’t find where I hid my stereo. Meaning they are being kept five miles away from the house.”Bella said as she reentered the room and sat back down on the couch.

“So what are our options on where to go?”Tanya wanted to have a plan.

“I think we should stay here because this is going to happen anywhere we stay. We could stay with Leah but that would lead to a fight with the Cullens and likely some of them being killed and we can’t let that happen or I will be exposed to the kings.”Isabella said.

“It’s not ideal but Isabella has a good point. It won’t matter where we go they will destroy wherever we settle down. I would prefer that Cullens die but not at the expense of Isabella.”Rosalie had claimed Isabella as her sister and she didn’t want her sister getting hurt.

“I agree. We will just have to figure out how to prepare food because the kitchen is unusable.”Carmen wouldn’t be able to prepare anything in the kitchen.

Isabella waved her hand at Carmen.”I’ll get my meals from my bunker. I can also use the bathroom in my bunker if I actually need to go.”

“That brings up a good point. How come you don’t go to the bathroom?”Emmet hadn’t seen Isabella go once.

“I don’t have to use the bathroom that often because my body uses all the fuel I put into it. I’m a food powered machine. The more food I get the better I preform. For some reason my body uses even single crumb of food or drop of liquid I ingest.”Isabella explained.

“That’s a handy skill for a human to have.”Kate liked that they wouldn’t have to take bathroom breaks when hanging out with Isabella.

“How many days left until we don’t have to deal with this anymore?”Irina wanted to be alone with her mate to properly apologize for her past lovers.

“Four days for the newborns then three days later I die. Then you guys will probably have to stick around for a couple days to mourn  me while I’ll be in my bunker packing the things I need to live with you full-time.”Isabella was counting down the seconds.

“Do you want us to go to your bunker and help you?”Tanya wanted to see what Isabella kept in her bunker.

“It would be easier if I did it myself. You all would have to travel to Slovakia and you wouldn’t be about to bring anything home for me.”Isabella didn’t want to waste the time.

“That makes sense.”Rosalie was still going to ask Isabella to bring her at a later time.

“Let’s get back to your story. What happened after Tanya stepped in?”Irina wanted to know what transpired.

Isabella moved around on the couch to get comfortable.”The four of us sat at the kitchen table not saying anything. You Irina just stared me with a guilty expression on your face, Kate looked like she could decide if she wanted to laugh or comfort you and Tanya looked very disappointed in you. Not because of what you did but how rude you were to me. I don’t know how long sat there in silence but eventually Tanya spoke. She questioned was who was I, why was I dressed the way I was and what were the objects I was carrying. I weighed my options and decided to go with the truth. I told the sisters everything from my real timeline how they were involved and how I had just finished changing the future by making the Volturi win. I even told them Sasha’s role. I left nothing out.”

“How did they react?”Carmen didn’t think she would believe it.

“All three of them laughed at me. The thought I was playing a trick on them. To prove I wasn’t I went back to each of their childhoods and stole their favorite toys. Each of them were shocked because they thought their toys had been lost. I explained that the reason they were lost is I went back in time to steal them. After that they believed me except for my opinion on Sasha. To the three of them the woman was their savor, a mother and their protector. They were offended I would say otherwise so I stopped trying to convince them. I just asked that they not tell her about my gifts and that Irina wants me older before I’m changed. They agreed and when I met Sasha she treated me horribly, forced me to do manual labor when the others weren’t there to protect me. She constantly threatened to drain me and told me that Irina couldn’t save me forever. The abuse went on for months and even though I told them what was going on the sisters didn’t believe me. Nor did they believe me that Sasha was up to something no good when she started spending weeks at a time away from home. They also didn’t believe me when I followed Sasha and saw the child she created. The sisters including my own mate called me horrible names when I told them. One day it got to be to much so I told them if they wouldn’t believe then I was leaving and for them not come to me when their lives went to shit. Irina begged me to stay while Tanya and Kate screamed at me to leave. It was during that fight that the guards came for us.”Isabella told them.

“We were that devoted to Sasha that I would have turned on my own mate instead of believing the woman was capable of a crime?”Irina did not like herself in the second timeline.

“All three of you were devoted until the end. The four of us were dragged into the village the immortal child had destroyed and thrown in front of all three kings. Tanya asked why we were there and instead of replying Sasha was thrown in front of us while another guard walked over holding the child. Even with the proof right in front of you none of you would accept it. When Aro read out the charges you three screamed and yelled denials of her guilt. When Aro ignored you and order Sasha’s death each of you attacked the guard. If it wasn’t for my shield you would have been killed. Unfortunately for me I had been exposed to the kings. They offered a deal you three would live if I became a member of the guard. I agreed knowing that if I didn’t Aro would kill you three and take me anyway. I spent ten years in the guard in that timeline trying to learn all I could about vampires, going on missions and being a forced participant of the imaginative experiments they could up with to try to understand and harness my shield and immortality. Once I finally felt prepared I went back and tried for a third time. It was even worse than the second and had me wondering if I should have just left the timeline alone.”Isabella now knew that she had been right to change the timeline.

“So we basically called you a liar and clung to a woman who had been actively trying to get us killed then in the end we still clung to her even with proof she committed a crime and the only reason we weren’t killed is you gave yourself to Aro to become one of his pets and have horrible things done to you so we could have our freedom?”Kate wanted to make sure she understood what Isabella was saying.

Isabella nodded.”It was a hard ten years but I needed help and that was the only place to get it at the time. They didn’t know I could travel through time luckily or it would have been a lot worse for me.”

“Did we ever see you during those ten years?”Tanya was really going to have to do something nice for all the sacrifices Isabella made for them.

“You refused to let me visit nor did you reply to my letters. The three of you blamed me for not saving Sasha and for stopping you from killing the kings.”Isabella told her.

“You guys sucked in that timeline.”Emmett couldn’t imagine how Isabella survived dealing with the sisters in that timeline.

“You said the third timeline was worse. Why is that?”Eleazar was fascinated in learning about the other timelines knowing that they could have been a reality he lived in.

“When I went back a third time I thought that if I could be there from the beginning when Sasha changed Irina it would work out better. So I took the day and place Irina told me in the second timeline and I staked it out. When I saw Irina I walked up to her and we starting talking. We got along like we were old friends. Eventually Sasha, Tanya and Kate showed up. They wanted Irina but they didn’t want me. I only convinced them to take me because of my shield and that I was an immortal human. Sasha had Kate attack me to know how good I was and when Kate didn’t even touch me Sasha agree I could come. I told Irina that everything was going to be alright and I would never leave her side again. She gave me a smile then Sasha bit her without warning. Tanya asked if I could run fast and when I told her no she cradled me in her arms and took off running stopping at a tavern. I didn’t understand why we were there because Irina’s screaming was bringing attention to us. Tanya took me upstairs and put me in a room with Irina and locked the pair of us up together. I stayed by her side for three days with no food or water nor did anyone check on us. When the screaming stopped and Irina opened her eyes she immediately kissed me. I thought I got us a good future. I couldn’t have been more wrong.”Isabella should have left the moment she saw the tavern.

“How were you wrong?”Rosalie was on the edge of her seat.

“When Irina asked what happened I explained to her what vampires we and that she was probably thirsty. I offered her my wrist to drink from until she could hunt. After she drank her fill we both waited to see what the others would do to us. While we did I whispered my secrets to Irina making sure the other vampires couldn’t hear. Irina actually believed me because she had seen me appear in the tree line out of thin air and that my clothing was very odd. We talked about that for a little while until finally the door was unlocked and Sasha came in holding a large bundle of clothing. She told both of us to get dressed it was time to get to work. Irina asked what job we would be doing. Sasha laughed at her and said the place was brothel what kind job did she think she would be doing. When Irina told her she didn’t want to do that Sasha told her she didn’t care that Irina had been picked for her looks and would make Sasha a lot of money. She then walked out the room and slammed the door behind her. Irina and I shared a look then Irina whispered to me please change the timeline and with one last kiss I left to try again.”Isabella couldn’t leave Irina working as a prostitute.

“Thank you for saving me from that life.”Irina was beyond grateful that Isabella prevented Irina from becoming a prostitute.

“Did you have many interactions with us during your travels?”Carmen wondered how Isabella interfered with her and Eleazar’s lives.

“One timeline I fixed you Carmen were one of the queens and had a throne for yourself.”Isabella told her.

“Wait what?”Kate couldn’t imagine that happening.

“It’s true. Carmen was being forced into a false mate bond with Marcus. Aro and Caius did it because they were sick of him mourning his own mate. It backfired on them though because Marcus became obsessed with Carmen and refused to let her out of his sight. To the point he made her a throne to sit next to his own and always deferred to her about any and all decisions made in the castle. I had to change that timeline for an unrelated issue but there were some substantial rumors going around that Carmen was going to be killed soon.”Isabella explained.

“That’s crazy.”Emmett couldn’t see Carmen as a queen.

“I’m glad that didn’t happen.”Carmen wouldn’t want to be in a false mate bond.

“One time I met Eleazar he was a bald monk who was the curator to his monastery’s archives. He was human at the time and I was trying to find a book I needed. Imagine my surprise when he greets me and then proceeds to help me find the book. It was beyond bizarre. I had never met him in a timeline he was religious at all and in that one he was the most enthusiastic monk I had ever met. He talked my ear off about how great his religion was. I was tempted to knock him out so he would shut up.”Isabella smiled when everyone laughed.

“I don’t know if Eleazar would look good without hair.”Kate didn’t think he had the right shaped head.

“He doesn’t. No offense Eleazar but you have weird indents in your skull that when your head is shaved it looks disturbing. You assured me that the indents were just cosmetic and didn’t affect you in any way but they were still disturbing.”Isabella shivered thinking about them.

Eleazar slowly ran his hand over his skull. He was surprised to find Isabella was right. He did have indents.”How could I have never noticed that before?”

“You don’t get hair cuts so you probably never noticed.”Rosalie wondered what his head looked like bald.

Kate was having the same thought as Rosalie.”I now really hate that we can’t shave your head to see what it looks like.”

“I don’t. Like I said it was very disturbing.”Isabella didn’t even like thinking about it.

“How you interfered with our lives at all other than running into us randomly?”Carmen was going to inspect her mate’s head later. She didn’t often run her fingers through his hair so that’s why she never noticed the indents but now she wanted to see them for herself.

“I have actually. Many times. It’s usually Eleazar that is the trouble maker however. In every timeline he is just as curious about the world and it’s history. That curiosity always getting him in trouble. I try to make sure that he and Carmen always end up with the sisters because they are happiest with them. Carmen has gotten into a few binds but Eleazar always stresses me out. One time I actually saved him when he got stuck as human in one the pyramids that couldn’t be cleared because of all the deadly traps. The man actually went into by himself because he told me that he couldn’t live with himself if never found of what secrets were inside.”Isabella would have grey hair if she aged due to some of Eleazar’s adventures.

“I have no problem believing that.”Emmet thought that was something that Eleazar would do.

“I wish we could actually go and explore those pyramids.”Eleazar had always to see what was so important that deadly traps were used to protect them.

“Once we deal with Carlisle and you going to the Volturi we can all go if everyone is interested. I was there when they were built so I know the secret tunnels and everything. I wouldn’t mind showing you around.”Isabella offered.

“Darling we can’t go because of the sun.”Irina would love to explore the pyramids just like she knew the others would because they were untouched by the public since they were originally built.

“I guess I didn’t tell you. That’s the thing with time travel and changing timelines I always forget that not everyone has the same information every time. I have to actually tell you things.”Isabella always left things out after traveling for so long.

“What are you talking about?”Tanya asked.

“My physical shield. It blocks uv rays for up to a mile in all directs around me. Any vampire who stand within that mile doesn’t sparkle at all. They look completely human.”Isabella told her.

“Seriously?”Rosalie wanted to be sure before she got her hopes up.

Isabella nodded.”I’m totally serious and before you ask yes I will go for a ride with you so you can finally drive a convertible with the top down on a sunny day.”

“Thank you Isabella.”Rosalie felt silly when she felt her eyes fill with tears that would never fall. It had been her dream since she was human to ride around in a convertible on a sunny day. When she first saw someone doing it Rosalie thought it was the coolest thing she had ever seen and wanted to experience it for herself. Now she would actually get a chance. She really needed to do something nice to thank Isabella for everything she did for Rosalie and Emmet.

“We could go anywhere in the world.”Kate was already making a list of the places she wanted to go.

“I think it would be fun to explore the pyramids.”Irina like the others wanted to see what had been hidden there.

“It would be extremely fun having a personal guide to tell us about all the secrets the buildings held.”Eleazar needed to put together a kit of tools he would need for the adventure.

“I have the blueprints for all of the main ones. Plus some of the smaller ones and even a bunch of temples. Some buried under the sand.”Isabella told them.

“Wait you have blueprints to the pyramids?”If that was true Emmet was even more excited about visiting them.

“Yes I was very impressed with them and had watched some of them being built. They usually made only a few copies of the blueprints then they destroyed them. I thought they would be a neat souvenir so I would collect copies of the ones I watched being built. I also watched the ceremonies they held when they sealed them. During that time they went all out and spared no expense celebrating the the people who died or the gods and goddesses they were dedicating a temple to.”Isabella had gone back dozens of times to experience the events.

“Have you ever recorded or taken pictures of the past?”Carmen asked.

Isabella nodded.”I have taken a lot of videos and pictures of the past going far before the pyramids.”

“How far back are we talking?”Kate hadn’t really thought about how far back in history Isabella traveled.

“I haven’t travel as far as before humans roamed the earth. I haven’t felt comfortable doing that. The farthest back would probably be when humans were just settling and building large permanent communities. They were nomads before that and for some reason they decided to settle.”Isabella told her.

“I didn’t even think about the fact that you could go back and actually see with your own eyes how humans were created.”Tanya wondered how she could convince Isabella to go back and find out that information.

“Why aren’t you comfortable going that far back?”Irina like Tanya was wondering how she could get Isabella to find out how humans were created.

“I honestly don’t know. It never felt right. To me it’s like if we are supposed to know how humans came to be then we would know. The fact that we don’t makes me believe that we aren’t supposed to.”Isabella didn’t want to upset the balance by finding out something she wasn’t supposed to know.

“You literally could find out the answer to the greatest mystery in the world. Everyone wants to know how humans were created. You have the power to prove or discredit religions, scholars and the entire public. Don’t you think it’s worth it to find out the answer?”Eleazar had been researching his whole life to find that answer.

“I don’t think anything good would come out of the world knowing the truth. Even if people actually believed my claims it would likely cause all out war amongst the different fractions of beliefs. If it was proven it was actually evolution then religions would be proven to be wrong and that would cause many to be angry about being lied to. Especially people who dedicated their lives and money to the institutions. Angry people like to lash out. That’s not even getting into the fact that if I could prove god was responsible. That would cause religions to fight over which god was the one who did it. That would cause devastating holy wars. No it’s not worth the public finding out.”Isabella didn’t want to have to erase another timeline.

“You could just tell us.”Rosalie wanted to know.

“Even though I probably won’t change my mind I’ll think about it.”Isabella figured that would satisfy the group so they wouldn’t pester her about it.

“Well we hope you do it but until then I think when we get back to Alaska Isabella should get all the blueprints she has. We don’t have anything going on so we can spend as much time as we want in the desert.”Tanya looked to Isabella.”While we are out there you would still be able to get us the blood replacement and food for yourself no matter where we are right?”

“That would be no problem. We also have two years before we need to start interfering with things happening around the world after you deal with Aro.”Isabella told her.

“What about you needing to sleep and rest? How will you do that in the desert?”Irina didn’t want Isabella having to travel to sleep and Irina not be able to go with her.

“We will need to set up a base camp to organize all the things we need to do a proper delve with if we don’t want to ruin the buildings and artifacts. I will just set up my own tent and bring camping equipment so that I can stay with the group of you the whole time. As for food I can travel to get that if I run out. I will need to go get your blood anyway because it needs to be refrigerated.”Isabella would be fine camping in the desert. She grew up living in a pen with a dirt floor without any clothing or blankets. The desert in a tent was what Isabella considered a luxury in living conditions.

“You’re right we will want a base camp because none of us want to half ass this. We want to have a proper dig. It will also be nice that you can bring anything we want to keep home for us so we don’t have to deal with the government when it comes to ownership of all the items.”Kate didn’t want to leave anything behind.

“We are going to have to build a building to hold everything we decide to take.”Carmen like Kate wasn’t going to leave anything behind.

“Do you know about other old buildings that had secret hidden passages that hold treasures no one knows about?”Emmet asked.

“Yes and I also know about old buildings that were buried due to natural disasters. Plus some sunken ships from centuries and millennia ago.”Isabella paid attention to the current going ons in the world when she was traveling and had heard of many ship wrecks along the way.

“You mean like pirate ships?”Rosalie was definitely interested in pirate ships.

“Pirate ships, cargo ships, military ships, privately owned ships. I have heard of many throughout my travel and I always keep a record of them. I myself had wanted to visit them but have never gotten the chance.”Isabella told her.

“Are all of them in under water?”Tanya was already making plans to buy a boat to use to get to the ships. Sunken treasure was almost as cool as being able to be the first one to explore a pyramid.

“Not all of them. Some had floated up on deserted islands or in places humans can’t access. The majority are underwater though.”Isabella said.

“If Isabella can block the sun then we could safely travel by boat without the humans thinking anything was off.”Emmett wasn’t going to miss out on exploring pirate ships.

“Plus with the blood we will have our regular eye color and won’t have to worry about hunting. We will need supplies for Isabella anyway so if anyone inspects our ship it will look like a bunch of wealthy people wanting to try living on a boat for a while.”Eleazar was just as excited as everyone else.

“We will likely need a big boat so we can all have our own space. That and a full lounge area and kitchen for Isabella. We once again won’t have to worry about dealing with the government of whatever country we find the boats in because Isabella can bring the loot home for us.”Kate couldn’t decide if she wanted to explore pirate ships or the pyramids more. She really needed to do something nice for Isabella for not only keeping them safe and happy all these years but to thank her for all the fun she was bringing to an otherwise boring life for Kate.

“I think it would be a good idea to get a yacht. That way we have an excuse for being out on the sea for a long time.”Irina also wanted her mate to have the best experience while on the boat. A yacht would give Isabella a comfortable place to live while they were searching for treasure.

“We all need to learn how to operate the one we pick out. That way we can take turns on who has to do it.”Tanya knew no one was going to want to miss out on actually being involved in the salvage because they had to operate the boat.

“How long do we have until Carlisle comes and we are called to Italy?”Rosalie asked Isabella.

“Edward leaves for Italy right after my funeral. A funeral that the Cullens pay for and arrange. Which I think is hilarious because I’m faking my death to get away from them.”Isabella said.

“That is kind of funny.”Irina was going to insist that the Denali be in charge of it because even if Isabella wasn’t dead Irina wanted to be in charge of her funeral.

“After the funeral is over Edward says nothing to anyone and goes to Italy. The kings see him immediately then Edward asked to die and becomes Aro’s pet. During that time Alice has a vision of what happens to Edward but it’s to late to save him because Edward knowing how Alice’s gift works was able to trick her into not seeing what he was doing. The only reason she sees Edward as Aro’s pet is because Edward let down his guard when Chelsea bonds him to Aro. In their grief the Cullen’s pack up this house right away and go to a cabin in Vermont to mourn. After a week of being there Carlisle decides that it reminds him too much of Edward. That’s when he calls Tanya to ask if they can visit. You agree then they show up the next day. After I refuse to go to Italy within the first hour of them being in Alaska Carlisle leaves saying he needs space. He goes straight to Italy. Where once again the kings see him right away as well. It takes from the time Aro reads Carlisle to you guys visiting the castle then being dismissed 5 days. Most of which is dedicated to travel. So it takes 12 days from the day of my funeral for all this to be over. Then we have two years of freedom before we have to get involved with the world again.”Isabella explained.

“How many days after you pretend to die is the funeral held?”Tanya liked that it would be less than two weeks to deal with everything after it.

“3 days because Charlie has to come back from wherever he is to claim the body.”Isabella told her.

“That’s not bad. I was afraid it would be months before we would be able to begin our life together.”Irina had been expecting months before everything was finally over with.

“Until then let’s hope no one screws up the timeline and I have to start over. This one has been turning out the best one I have had so far and I really don’t want to have to erase all the progress I have made.”Isabella probably wouldn’t have to go that far back to change things depending on what got screwed up.

“I hope you don’t have to either. That would mean I would miss out on not only being a mother but I would miss out on going on a real life treasure hunt. That and riding in a convertible.”Rosalie had a very bright future ahead of her that she didn’t want to miss out on.

“Have you ever taken us to the pyramids or to look for the ships before?”Carmen asked.

“No because I haven’t been able to fix the timeline to the point that we have had time to take vacations as a family.”Isabella hadn’t gotten everyone in such a good place before.

“Well this timeline is going to stick. I’m sure of it.”Emmett knew that Isabella got it right this time because she saved him and Rosalie and put them with the Denali.

“Let’s hope.”Isabella wasn’t going to count on it. Putting a hand over her mouth Isabella covered a yawn.

“Are you tired sweetheart?”Irina was confused why that was because Isabella had eaten more than one meal on the reservation and almost always was eating some kind of snack.

“I haven’t caught up on regaining my energy after being so weak for so long. It will be a few more days at least until I will be back to full strength. I just have to keep eating a lot of food. The more I eat the quicker I’ll be back to normal. Then I won’t have to sleep as much.”Isabella had felt a lot better after starting off with a big breakfast and all the food she had eaten during the day. It would have been enough to keep her awake for a couple days but she had been starved for months and her body wasn’t healed yet.

“It really pisses me off that Esme has been starving you for Edward.”Tanya couldn’t believe how cruel the woman was. Then again after seeing how they reacted to Isabella Tanya was starting to understand that she didn’t know the Cullens at all.

Isabella stood up.”It is what it is. They won’t be our problem for much longer so I’m just going to focus on how much fun Kate, Emmet and I are going to have using explosives to blow out walls in the pyramids in the future.”

“We get to blow things up?!”Kate really needed to do something for Isabella.

“Of course. Some of those buildings have walls even a vampire can’t break through.”Isabella told her.

“That is awesome.”Emmet hated they had to wait to visit the pyramids now that he knew they were going to be blowing things up.

“We will work out a plan before you three do anything.”Tanya was going to have to pull Isabella aside before hand to tell her what was going to be allowed while she was in the coven. Giving Kate and Emmet explosives being something that wasn’t.

“Let’s get you to bed sweetheart. They ruined the frame but we can put the mattress on the floor.”Irina felt happy that Isabella didn’t keep anything important in the house. Irina knew that Isabella was right when she said that if she did the Cullens would either steal it or destroy it.

“I’m going to take some time tomorrow to email Jasper some of the video of the group doing all this damage. They didn’t touch the cameras so I will have it all on tape.”Isabella had the footage on her phone.

“What are we doing tomorrow?”Kate asked.

“You guys what to start some training?”Isabella thought that was something they could do to help prepare for the newborns.

“Hell yeah we do.”Emmett wanted to learn how to properly fight in a way that would show off his strength.

“You guys just need to find a place to buy the dummies.”Isabella had no clue how to do that.

“I found a couple places to get them.”Kate was very excited to learn about her gift.

“How are we going to keep the Cullens from watching them train?”Rosalie didn’t want the Cullens seeing what the pair could do and Aro finding out.

“I will just shield the area we are using and put the sound on to keep them away.”Isabella told her.

“Sounds like we have a plan. Now I’m taking my mate to bed.”Irina wanted a few minutes alone with Isabella before she went to sleep. Not waiting for replies Irina grabbed Isabella’s hand and led her toward the stairs. Irina had a lot to think about in regards of the stories Isabella told them. An apology would never be enough for how she treated Isabella in the second timeline. In reality Irina knew it wasn’t her fault but she still felt guilty. Especially because instead of getting bitter and angry at Irina like Isabella should have done Isabella trained and put herself through being experimented on so that she was better prepared to try to give Irina the best life she could. Then Isabella tried again and had save Irina from a horrible life. Isabella’s whole existence was dedicated to making Irina as happy as she could be. It was humbling to know that Isabella never gave up. No matter how horrible Irina was to her or how horrible a time Isabella had she never gave up. Isabella even had to deal with crippling heartbreak over and over again. Irina didn’t think she would have been strong enough to do that. It just showed how incredible of a mate Isabella was. She sacrificed everything over and over again for Irina and had yet to complain about it. Even when Irina was horrible in the second timeline Isabella didn’t blame Irina. Irina made a promise to herself that when they finally got free of the Cullens and the kings that Irina was going to take Isabella away for week without the family. The time traveler deserved a break and to be pampered by her mate for once. Irina was going to have to do some research on the human body so that she could get everything she needed to give Isabella the most relaxing week of her life. Something Isabella more than deserved.
