Firearms Familiarity and Training

Firearms Familiarity and Training

Comments

I just use a CMMG .22 conversion for some trainings. It costs way less than a separate rifle, and everything is exactly the same.

It’s expensive to shoot a lot. I picked up the S&W 15-22 to train more and it’s setup as close as I can get it to my 5.56. The sling, optic, stock and controls are the same or very close. It had made a huge difference in the amount I can train and familiarity Next is the new Glock 44 .22 that will match my Glock 19. A lot of people are of the opinion you have to train with the what you will bring to the fight to get competent. I don’t buy it. When you box you don’t go all out in sparring or in the marital arts. I look at it as every 6 weeks I will pull out the 9mm and the 5.56. The recoil on both is negligible anyway. So not much difference other than weight.

Train the basics, the difference between the high speed guys and everyone else is that they have mastered the basics. When I was really poor I could only shoot 50 rounds every two weeks. I had to come up with a system that worked.
