The anime didn't have enough episodes to fit it into the TV show, so they moved it to its own movie called "Fruits Basket: The Prelude". If they had followed the manga, it would've been featured towards the beginning of s3 :). Its def worth watching, since it is technically part of the main storyline. Its one of the most emotional, heart wrenching parts of the manga. However, it does feature a highly problematic age gap relationship... So you do kinda need to get past that.. It was written in the 90s/early 2000s.. back when Shoujo manga used to heavily romanticize student/teacher relationships. I was able to look past it since the story is good, but it is still an issue. Keep in mind that the first 30 ish minutes of the movie is a recap of the anime, so u could skip that (if u wanted to react to it @ all).
