There are so many factors to consider when bugging out. And then you need a back up plan for that too! Chuckle.
Seriously, my advice is don't get on the bus! If you don't remember anything else, remember that.
And if I have to walk to my bug out location I will, but that is the emergency plan. I knew a geologist who said, if you can ride a horse don't walk, if you can drive don't ride a horse, if you can fly, don't drive. I am taking that advice backwards.
