Well, there wasn't any mention that he was unable to summon anything besides women. There was his Soaring Ferret before the story started, and then Eru during Volume 2 last arc, which was a genderless pixie too. I'm going to tweak some parts for Umbra before release, but they/he will stay a genderless shadow in the end. Others only use "he" most of the time due to the ancient voice Umbra often uses. He doesn't really identify as anything as he's a "shadow". Nevertheless, not a love interest anyway.
