Get that block heater going. That’ll help a lot. Better for your truck too. For a diesel, maybe add some diesel 911 fuel additive as well just in case you’re gelling the fuel (I’d hope they are putting it in, but maybe not on the coast, white bottle, not the red). Definitely sounds like you have an alternator issue. Best to do it now, ready for the next 6 years. I’ve had excellent luck with Interstate brand batteries in my diesels. They usually last 8 years here in the -20 in Wyoming. If your truck came with a grill cover, consider using it. It’s more for wear and tear on your transmission (temps stay below normal operating ranges without it here). If your diesel doesn’t have them, maybe consider battery blankets. You can buy or make them.
