I grew up in the country, we did what Ed said. Plus, You can "go" in a bucket, put a lid on it and take it somewhere to dump it. Depending on the size of your family, do that once or twice daily. The lid helps mitigate the smell.

I plan on feeding scraps to animals, burn paper and plastic, glass I’ll probably reuse and cans will bd saved, I’ll hunt animals if they come in and cans can be cut up and used for many things including hole covers and shingles.
