It's not like it's her first time seeing someone die in a fight. As we can remember, she even watched Ast literally murder a thief years ago in front of her. Perhaps you would think that because she always acts so cheerfully, but that doesn't really mean a cheerful person has to be weak to such cruelties. As to why not to kill her, it was mentioned in the chapter. They will hand her over to the authorities. Perhaps these will later make her speak about everything so that it will be easier to deal with the bandit;s den. Asterios is not stupid. He knows how to take advantage of things.
