This chapter starts something that continues through the rest of the story, the idea money no longer matters. I assume this is to take the burden off the author of generating a consistent economy in the whole universe, I'm not saying this is a good or bad method is hand waving the cost of everything moving forward better that having inconsistent costs of items in the rest of the story I think money not making sense is worse than money being pointless, but you have to acknowledge by removing money as a factor in the story you a removing a path along which and adventurer can progress, this is particularly true in the chapter after the dungeon crawl finishes where the guild master hand waves the money made on the dungeon crawl essentially saying the MC is too busy to count his own money and is like the only adventurer in the whole world disinterested in loot. Not saying this is good or bad but if money is no longer a factor it removes something from the story no word count not spent on economy being spent on character development is good but I'm interested in the choice to do so

2021-05-08 13:11:43 +0000 UTCWell, in the previous chapters he mentioned that he wanted to upgrade his equipment since besides his techniques he was pretty much the weakest, I don't think I've specified what exactly Ast was looking for. From this chapter, he gets a reinforced bracer with a few tweaks, which surely is of help in both defensive and offensive aspects. Then, at a later date, he'll be getting something bigger than just a dagger he usually uses (maybe hah). His current "armor" is quite decent, but he might check for something else still before departing. The main point of everything he mentioned was to make him less useless against common and uncommon enemies when solo against them without the help of his summons, and the best way for that is to utilize what he has and is good at. Good offense is the best defense as they say hah.

2021-05-08 12:57:39 +0000 UTCWell, by the definition they are slightly different since they aren't beaming with "romantical love" towards him and more accept Al as their master in a monster-taming sense. They do feel partially affectionate towards him but even having the girls' memories they do not follow some humanoid concepts and some would argue that since they "work" they aren't really core members. If you think about why Emi is so clingy it's mostly due to his energy and the fact that Ast's bodily fluids are not only beneficial but also sweet. Thus, while technically being "together", their relationship isn't strictly that of lovers. While personally, it doesn't really matter to me as all the girls are amazing and should be pampered, for some readers they draw the line where the girl is not "exclusive".

As for Kindra, I believe I've stated somewhere she doesn't see him in that light and that won't change, even though they are not blood related. Tina, well, she's kinda obvious :P Grea yeah, she's still a big unknown. They do say not to stick in crazy tho.

While Miria was quite simple-minded, a lot of factors supported her "fall", like the whole fact she was brought up on the stories of what literally happened to her. As for Selene, things are going at a much more "normal" pace since she wasn't really interested in relationships, or rather she was pretty much forced to forget that aspect, so things are just slowly catching up to her and her personality is also way different than Miria. It still feels a little bit too rushed at a few spots, but I just hope it's good enough. We certainly won't be having sudden summon girls falling in love day 1 after sensing Ast's energy or smth.

2021-05-07 23:39:32 +0000 UTCAlastair's core harem has currently five (Sirgia, Cornelia, Elea, Neira, Astrea) girls and it definitely won't grow to insane core numbers, but we still have a few to reach, and I bet people can already guess who. But, it's a different style of the story and he still has good and different types of relationships with others. As for TWS, it's not going to be as expansive. I won't be making promises, but I don't think it will go over 4 girls and even that I'm not yet sure. We'll see.

What's going on with Selene is a good example of the right way in my opinion. Also, for future summons can be an existing couple or family, 2+ for one special.

While at the late date there might be a group of women around Ast, obviously with not all of them into him, it won't evolve into a soccer team level harem xd
