You can't add one if if doesn't have one. You have to get a new upper if you want one. It is not vital, but I would recommend it.

Very interesting video! Greatly appreciated! So I was a firm AK 47 guy for years, I got a AR a year ago, it does not have the forward assist. Should I get one with the forward assist or make this particular one have one? Thanks
