Well, to some extent, they were protected by Bryn's spells that covered their bodies. That "blood" is toxic mostly dangerous when it gets into the wounds and such. And well, it might not be as bad for people out of the realm.

I’ve been wondering this since the battle started but why did Selene and Maria suddenly stop worrying about the black blood? Even the others were touching Maria with it dried on. I thought it did nasty shit to people when it got on them? I think Ast and Selene even had them in their mouths. Thanks for another great chapter!

Well, it's nothing crucial now. They visited the device for a moment in the last chapter and might return there soon or at some point. They mainly wanted to boost it up to "fix" the hole in Asterios, but it turned out that something else was necessary to do that (the other Dragon's Heart). So, they will first chill a little and check on the device when things calm down. Maybe it will help them with the seal.

I mean I do get it. If he was pulled to Black's side then red would either have to kill his own son, or let his son kill him. Not say I agree with it, but I can at least understand it.

Weren’t they supposed to go back and use the healing machine after starting up the heart to full power? I was expecting that this chapter?!? Did I miss something?
