Comments

Did they ever do an alternate suspects episode???

Alyse Christensen

I think I saw a video where he basically said he doesn’t hold it against Jesse. It would be understandable if he did, but Damian has spoken a lot about trying to put all of this behind him and move forward.

Sara Roberts

"We all come from a divine cooze" is a t-shirt 🤣

D.

Where's part 3?

Sisyphus

This case , help me not give a shit , when pigs become bacon.. lol

Daniel Maldonado

I really do think it was some random trucker.

Benjamin Fleming

10 years ago, Id do a deep dive. Now, Im old enough to know my limits. Thanks for the share, though!

Benjamin Fleming

I just binged all 3 documentaries on max and ended up having SO many questions when I was done. I couldn’t find answers on my own so I thought, I’d listen to the boys to see if they knew the details because they always do amazing research. Well, they did not disappoint. ALL of my questions were answered and I gained even more insight into things I hadn’t thought of. Love you guys!

Raschelle Hauck

Uh oh... I'm heart/like number 666. You guys think that makes me the killer?

Brian Leech

I want (Part 3) so bad. This case is so interesting and infuriating….

Matt Eberhardt

I only found 1&2 so far, I’m guessing they’ll come out with part 3 (alternate suspects) soon

Courtney Bushard a.k.a the Spiciest Meatball

This episode made me look at He Man in a different way. He would just be a buff dude sitting around his castle jerking it and admiring himself in the mirror if it wasn’t forSkeltor. 😂

Jack S. Ward

R, r, xv , v. Hmm

Ken Pfister

How many parts are there to this?

Renata

The most ridiculous thing is, when I was in high school at Barry goldwater in AZ, i knew a spider and snake! That was back in 02-06

LadyLove

Glad you all did West Memphis 3. I used to live near this area. I grew up in a large city in the South but had never been to AR (moved for work). Holy shit this place was like going back to the 1960-70’s with people who are more interested in what church you go to before they get to know you. The police are STILL corrupt and worthless. The only thing they actually do are accident reports and traffic stops. Some of these places are known speed traps and frankly the only thing missing is Boss Hog. It is sad that a state with so much agriculture business (and money) has SO much poverty.

Jude Cope

Jimmy and James! I would love for you guys to do Hatfield's and McCoys for a STM bonus episode. Id love to hear you guys tell that tale

Libby Alderfer

i will never call someone out for not being able to sign their name. they stopped teaching us in school and my parents never taught me. i can’t write a signature either😭

Bekah Cline

I can't wait for a deep dive into the other suspects. Truthfully, the West Memphis Three exemplify law enforcement's unwillingness to admit when they are wrong. Forcing these men to take an Alford plea to be set free is unjustifiable.

Brett Ramsey

I just got banned from your Facebook fan site for saying I didn’t like the personal item of the week because the reviews are left by Pervs, chomos, and pickmes. I didn’t say the people who use the items are… just that the ones who are adamant enough to leave a review are. Can you help me?

Jessica Allen

The other two were convicted because the jury foreman knew about Jessie’s confession and told the other jurors. Everyone involved needed to be fired.

Stephanie Horrigan

As someone who grew up in northeast Arkansas i can say it still isn't much better on understanding the "outcasts" of society

Tyler Summers

I think he is just trying to get it across that Jessie had a low enough iq that he could be led to say what they wanted him to say. James often goes a bit overboard on hammering his points home but we've known this for a while

Tyler Summers

I was thinking the same thing this whole time! Byers is not a good guy, but I also don't think he's smart enough to have done this. Hobbs has a history and now so many people involved in the case (like the boys' families) say they know it was him. Curious to hear why James doesn't think Terry Hobbs is the murderer! Hopefully they'll address that in the next one

Trent Tanner

The autopsy reports if anyone is interested: Byers: https://www.autopsyfiles.org/reports/Other/west%20memphis%20three/byers,%20christopher.pdf Branch: https://www.autopsyfiles.org/reports/Other/west%20memphis%20three/branch,%20steve.pdf Moore: https://www.autopsyfiles.org/reports/Other/west%20memphis%20three/moore,%20james%20michael%20.pdf

Liz Rutherford

Lack of childcare may have led her to bring her son to the interrogation.

Dennis McIntosh

How in the world did any of this get to a conviction??!? I see how they were released in 2011 on an Alford plea, but still! People should have lost their jobs over this debacle!

Max Wilson

"Dum-dums"? "Low-cogs"? C'mon, guys, you can do better than that, when referring to Jessie. That's not comedic, any more than someone referring to your own child as such would be, James.

Don Nelson

The show on peacock Hysteria really does a good job showing how crazy satanic panic can be. These adults were absolutely terrified of “satan” when it was obviously one of them in this town doing it…. I’m guessing the guy that removes his teeth and lies about everything…

☕🧟‍♀️𝕿𝖎𝖗𝖊𝖉 𝖆𝖘 𝖆 𝕸𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖗 ☕🧟‍♀️

Ugh! This whole situation is aggravating and disgusting! How did three teenagers end up in prison for this? Aside from inflaming the entire town and ignoring real suspects, none of the ‘evidence’ is evidence! My brain hurts!! Love you guys! Thanks for always delivering the best content ever, seriously, you’re such great podcasters, and even better comedians ❤️♥️

LouLou Rogers

Fun fact: Cammie, AKA Lucy Deakins, the "You don't know how local I am" girl from 'The Great Outdoors' is a lawyer now.

Mike TV

Give us moreeeeee

Cheyanne Duffany

I rewatched Paradise Falls and I perceived Byers a little differently this time. He's a performer for sure, they've got cameras in his face and are paying him and he knows they want big emotions so that's what he's giving them. He's also on a shit ton of drugs and the "brain tumor" thing. But think about what must be going on in his mind if he really didn't do it. He beat his kid the same day he was brutally murdered. He would have such an insane amount of guilt, maybe that's the reason he's so over the top compared to the other parents. The worst consequence of his performance though is that the creators got so caught up in him, we don't see any footage of Terry Hobbs which is crucial with the DNA results. I know James is discounting it because it's in a shoelace, but can someone clarify for me if it was part of the knots? There is one moment of Hobbs that stuck out to me, Steven's mom is basically being restrained on the ground, this must be police footage after they found the boys because she's just come apart and the cops are all surrounding her. Then the camera goes to Hobbs who is not helping his wife, but is instead smoking a cigeratte with a shaking hand looking like he's trying to disappear. But if Hobbs did it, why the focus on Chris? Was he planning to do the others are got interrupted? I hate this case so much.

Tiffany Zeiss

Can we organize some kind of harassment campaign against these stupid fucking cops. They really deserve to be punished for this shit.

Moth Mane

Great episode! On a random note: I love you guys, and I will listen to literally any episode you put out! I know you have so many ideas and shows and live shows, etc etc… but I’ve been catching up on Love After Lockup lately, and I keep thinking, “I need to know what James and Jimmie think!” So this is just a vote for another LAL Recap episode sometime. Thanks for all the hilarious content! 👏🏼

Elizabeth Jones

As usual when it’s a good one I listen and absorb the whole story . Of course of heard from different narrators but nobody puts as much work into a case like James and together it’s always well executed.

Dee Dee Johnson

This case is so infuriating. The wm3 were absolutely railroaded, obviously. Not only that, the 3 CHILD victims and families were robbed of justice (the innocent family members at least). The police, "witnesses", and the judicial system should pay for their corruption. I hope for the boys and families that DNA proves who is responsible

Crystal Christiansen

His own speedway!!! I almost pissed myself, that was some funny shit👌

Jeremy Hislop

Should a person be on death row because by your criteria, good people don’t carry skulls? It certainly doesn’t make him a bad person. He was a kid, looking for ways to get other kids to stop bullying him.

Chyann

Because he provided the confession that they needed. Justice wasn’t on their agenda; closing the case was. I live in Arkansas, so I’ve been to West Memphis, read the books, watched the documentaries. Definitely dig deeper. The judge didn’t allow any evidence they supported the teens and also let the state get away with a lot. The defense even called out the glaring flaws in the confession and their evidence. The jury did not care.

Chyann

I don’t think Damian killed them but don’t act like he was normal! Normal people DO NOT carry dog skulls around. Not a killer doesn’t mean good person. He is not! I always loved you show but let’s not pretend

Jeromy Poland

I guess my main question is... How does damien feel about Jesse all these years later? Does he resent him or does he understand that he was basically bullied?

Briana and Michael Siracuse

He was just good at it! Hahaha

Jeremy Hislop

Retired SpEd teacher here and I feel the exact same way. I sadly know from experience that our students do not stand a chance in the system 😫

Amy Sousa

Isn't the rule from crime in sports no teens in the hi squad?

TessMonster

and people think there aren't that many innocent people in jail

Jay gillis

I hope they don't wait to do the alternate suspects episode. I don't want to forget a bunch of this.

riskylifie

Sweet balls, YES, I am so excited to listen to this!!

Tanya D

Even with Jimmie and James hosting, this case makes my blood pressure rise

Manj Sangha

Breaks my heart no one has been held accountable after the time wasted convicting these guys.

Brenda

One thing that’s always gotten me about this case: everyone sees how smart Damien is. They used it against him in these trials. Everyone also sees that Jessie is very much not smart. So if Damien was the mastermind of this whole thing and not leave any physical evidence and have a lot of people who back up his alibi…why in the ever loving fuck would he have Jessie - who is a huge liability - along for the ride?

Sarah Wickham

Don’t give up hope yet. DNA testing of a lot of evidence is supposed to be in the works any day now.

Sarah Wickham

I used to be a special education teacher and listening to all the information about Jesse makes me want to cry. That poor fucken kid didn't have any support through school or life and those cunt cops had no fucking business speaking to him without a support person. 😭

ysolla

Yes, please do another episode on alternative suspects soon!

Hailey Buck

"West of Memphis" is a good documentary on this, in my opinion.

Michelle Miller

Excellent bonus ep! I also appreciated an interview LPOTL did with Damien and his partner within the last few months, I'd never heard him speak of his experience surviving death row; his incisive eloquence comes from horrific betrayal and the long, steep path he climbed out of hell.

Crowded Crow

Dang, girl... sold! You've certainly convinced me to get this book!

Crowded Crow

Good thing you weren’t born in 1966

Bobby Troxell

For even more behind the scenes legal stuff, I recommend "A Harvest of Innocence" by Dan Stidham (Jessie's lawyer). Listening on audio currently. The bullshit pulled by the judge and prosecuter, things we never heard, are shared and are infuriating. The book is really interesting - first couple chapters are a little heavy on the "all I've lost" because of the case. It's reasonable but rather repetitive initially, then he finds his rhythm and the book really takes off.

Rosalie Brown

Please do a third episode on the trial and how they were finally released. I’ve heard it from others, but no one gets into the details like you guys.

Maja Berlin

Ah, lads, don't wait a few months for the alternative suspects episode. Keep it going......

Mark Hackett

Great rule!

Cam 🛸

Another great episode. I hate that we’ll never know who actually killed those boys because everyone else was SO focused on manufacturing a verdict against the teens.

Cam 🛸

l was brought up in a conversation Christian household. My birthrate is 26 06 69. Notice the 666? l am apparently Satan. So l was repeatedly exorcised ie they repeatedly beat the living shit out of me. Even now l am dogged by religious zealots who report me for spurious crime.

melissa speirs

Personally…if you’re investigating a murder, you should at least have your own LIBRARY CARD Jesus Christ

CJ

The He-Man/Skeletor conversation… 💀

Sarah Zamenski

I’ve followed the West Memphis Three is one of those subjects that I have always followed …what an absolute fuck up by all parties that sent three innocent people to prison for nothing other than hearsay.

Layla

Learn how to lay blacktop first. That’s some funny shit

Douglas Woodson

I'm actually glad I didn't follow the trial when it was happening. Ii heard a little about it and thought these people are stupid if they think it was those boys. Now listening to a podcast years later. I'm so mad, I could blow a fuse at how the 3 boys were rail-roaded in to a confession. The whole lot of those grown ass men need to be in jail!!!! Ugh!!!!!! I'm so pissed 🤬

Michelle

gents are you two down for dinner/drinks before the Columbus show?? We'll find a diner with no abusive statues for James and one with plenty of whiskey for Jimmie!

Gremily

Loving these Patreon topic choices

Jordyn Fahey

Pecans are dreadfully disgusting and nobody should be allowed to profit from them. Anyway… on with the show, wahooooo, 🥳 !

Jane

I think this intuition is correct... truck driver or transient is most likely. Hobbs is only viable suspect of the parents, assuming wm3 or Damien are innocent.

mark

An extra long bonus?!? Yaaaayyyyy!! You guys fucking rock!

Ashley Loveless

West Memphis; The “High speed chicken feed” capital of the MS, TN, AR, tri-state area. 🤣

Michael J. Cheaney

Part of me wants to say truck driver (even though I am one, and holy shit do I have opinions about West Memphis) but if it was then why dump the bodies where they did. It seems like the killer(s) knew the area.

Michael J. Cheaney

Yay indeed

Madelyn Bryant

Yay!

Danielle Carter

How did you guys know I JUST finished pt. 1 literally a minute ago??🤯🫶🏼

Mandie Ronning

Yayyyyy!!!!

Danielle Tish

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay
