BONUS - SMALL TOWN MURDER - AMY BRADLEY IS MISSING

This week, James and Jimmie discuss the Netflix Documentary: Amy Bradley is Missing.

Comments

I agree with everything you said!!

Michelle Gannon

People misunderstand “Occam’s razor” to mean the simplest explanation is most likely to be true. This is an error. Occam’s razor means after taking into account ALL verifiable evidence the theory that posits the fewest assumptions, no matter how outlandish or mundane, is likely to be correct. For instance it is highly unlikely for someone to die by being attacked by an owl. However, if the claw marks on the body match and there are owl feathers embedded in the scalp Occam’s razor would argue its death by owl.

Anita Cockanauer

I agree. I’ve only been on 4 cruises, and I’ve only seen barefoot people on the pool deck. It would be very noticeable if someone tried to take a suitcase off the ship at a port. I’ve never seen anyone get off with a large suitcase.

Veronika Hill

Aww please share

Grumpy Aunt

Wild episode 5 Stars James and Jimmie

Ryan Oakes

I just went to Curaçao on Rhapsody last week ☠️

Katie Murphy

Idk I’ve always been suspicious of the family. Anyone crazy enough to name their kid Brad Bradly, is capable of anything.

Sydney

Late but great,,, just another reason to never go in a fucking 🛳 ship!!! Love you fuckers stay safe!!! 😘

Jessica DeHority

I am very suspicious of the dads boss though. I haven’t finished listening yet so idk if you mention it but the videographer contacted him and gave him videos/pics of amy from that night but he never passed them on….why? Considering he’s funded a lot of the searches etc since it’s weird he wouldn’t pass on evidence. Idk maybe it’s inconsequential but just struck me as weird.

Anne-Marie Miller

I thought the exact same thing as you guys while watching--it makes sense in the timeline that Yellow (allegedly) was the link to the traffickers, and it may not even be "kidnap" so much as sets them up to get drugs on the island and whoever falls for it is trafficked. I was shocked by people, here and on Reddit, who so vehemently believe she just fell off the balcony and that's the only solution. Those FBI photos clinched it for me--that was her. It's a shame that no one did more for her. And while witnesses came forward now, a shame that none of them came forward at the time.

Rachel Pelovitz

"Floating Fuck Shack"

Matressa, Countess of Whorington

This girl got smuggled off the boat, hooked on drugs, ended up with kids and Stockholm Syndrome. I bet she's out there or was forever. No telling what she has been through. That letter was crazy. Like she knew something was gonna happen. Thank you guys for covering it.

Kelly Stewart

Curacao is a hotspot for sex trafficking, so I can easily believe she was kidnapped. And more people than you might guess go missing from cruise ships all the time. Without being found. This isn’t really a unique occurrence, and I doubt we’ll ever know what happened. And for James & Jimmie - there are people on the poop deck (back end where the mooring ropes come out of) when you’re reversing ships, in radio comms with the bridge, so whoever is bringing the ship in definitely doesn’t have to guess lol.

Lesley Slaney

James you’re baked in and I love it lol!

Adrienne

Solo?

goodmanTX

Thanks for taking the time to offer a peek behind the curtain. When you do, it is always informative.

Sirc Michaels

My opinion is honest and offensive so I will keep it to myself. I did tell my husband and one of my daughters.

Adrienne

I tend to go with the Occam’s Razor hypothesis of “she fell off the ship, either by accident or by suicide, but most likely by accident.” I completely get why the conspiracy/kidnapping angle is so popular, but we all so often try to find some grand scheme/larger design for simple, random happenings. It’s human nature.

Peter Melling

I think she got into a fight with brother and he pushed her over. I think he told dad and dad decided to help him cover it up. (And yes, I think the brother killed JonBenet and the parents are covering that one up too.)

Kelsey Hansen

She fell. I can’t believe they believe eye witnesses. Notoriously unreliable. Really disappointed with their take on this one.

Lynn Donnaruma

Completely agree

Anthony Turner

My two possible thoughts… she said she felt sick earlier, she might have been ready to go back inside and she grabbed her cigarettes and lighter to leave but got sick again and stood on the table to throw up and then fell overboard… She mentioned wanting a picture of the sunrise and yellow told her he knew a spot she could get a good picture. That’s why the girls saw the two of them with the camera. Then he took her or he pushed her over

Mollie

Also is nobody going to mention that her brother is now claiming…… Scientologists came into his room and performed rituals on the family in the moments after she went missing? For some reason that wasn’t worth mentioning in the documentary?

Christopher Jennings

Damn, I sure hope I never am seen dancing with a woman that goes missing.

Christopher Jennings

And Brad is a nickname. Not his real first name.

Carla O'Connor

The brother is a racist, sexist, right-wing nut. Check his socials. He’s an awful human.

Carla O'Connor

Listening to the this 1 month out from my 18th cruise😬😬😬

Ashley Longstreet

Why didn't they just let the parents get off the ship first and watch to see if Amy came off the boat? Doh!

Jane Wolfe

I’m screaming I’m so excited you did this 🤣🤣

Cheyanne Duffany

A floating Denny’s 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Marc Trudeau

Shame can also keep your mouth shut and make you stay hidden.

Benjamin Fleming

“Floating fuck shack” and “engorging herself on Otis Spunkmeyer” 😂 Back in the day I worked at a neighborhood pool concession stand that served those delightful treats. 100% better before you baked them.

KellyInKentucky

Thanks to the info. What’s your theory?

KellyInKentucky

Let's leave the politics out of it.

Ernest Roher

The FBI absolutely did not definitively match that photo to Amy. That photo could have come from the 80s. We have no idea when it was taken. Cmon now be logical. James is the one constantly saying how unreliable eyewitness reports are but now they’re all 100% reliable?

Rachel Bordonaro

That's what I've always thought too. Something about the brother and the dad isn't right.

Nancy

Jfc, I’ve worked on anti-human trafficking task forces with LE agencies including the FBI. She was not trafficked. This is absolutely not how human trafficking works. I don’t know why otherwise rational people keep believing in these dumbass conspiracies.

Lindsay

My cat is named after Dizzy Devil, aka baby taz. Never heard of anyone having him as a tattoo.

Quinn Locke

The sound effects of a voice falling 8 story's high yelling hahaha

Cali kayak

I agree with James and Jimmie, that there was a scout on the boat. Whether it’s Yellow or not. And they tempted her with drugs. I think her parents were absolutely naïve thinking she didn’t do drugs etc. I didn’t understand why the family didn’t follow up further on the data with the website—if Amy is going to the site and they have coordinates, why don’t the parents or even Brad just go to the island? It’s likely she has kids and can’t leave now.

Olivia Fisher

I was surprised by Jimmie and James take on this one... I thought this episode would be like the Aunt Diane one where they just think the family is in denial. I'm still not sure what I think, but I agree that if she were ever discovered and wrote a book, that would be incredible!

Melanie Chavez

I'd say Bradley is thw most common "Brad" name but I have a friend named Bradford who goes by "Brad" so there are two names that use it as an abbreviation.

Travis Arruda

Maybe she pulled a Jenny from Forrest Gump… a risky climb on a railing from a confused drunk girl… she just didn’t catch herself like Jenny.

Michael Jaspers

Her dad especially

Rob Dean

Well fuck that guy then. Bradley Bradley.

Rob Dean

Davy who’s been in the Navy and will be for life lol lol

Rob Dean

That guy could jam on the bass

Rob Dean

Exactly! It’s like the Stockholm Syndrome times ten.

Rob Dean

FBI has very limited power in these areas unfortunately. I don’t think you’re naive at all… it’s optimistic to hope they would care. Sadly, they probably gave up thinking she was too far gone.

Rob Dean

All of us short white dudes had frosted tips in the late 90s

Rob Dean

Exactly. She was either forced off or went looking for drugs. Ended up being trafficked.

Rob Dean

I think she was smuggled off board by Yellow or some associate of Yellow. She was drugged and abducted into sex trafficking. Her mind was probably turned into swiss cheese by the monsters that control the sex market in the Caribbean. It’s really sad and unfortunately, this is not a new or unique situation.

Rob Dean

If you're running a successful sex slave ring what you don't do is kidnap an American and get an international search by the FBI after you. That whole angle is straight out of the movies

Rahsaan

What’s up Turkeys? Everyday I wake up hoping to hear that trump is finally arrested…. only to be disappointed…… but not today!!! ( at least not while listening to the Fellas). Another banger of an episode:)

Zachary Leatherwood

After looking at the photos and reading the reports I don’t think that’s Amy. I know James said he doesn’t like the occum razer argument but I do think she fell off the boat. Likely taking a photo of the sunset. She could have gone to the deck where railings are much lower. We know that people fall from those ships all the time. We also know when ppl fall they usually don’t scream. They are too shocked to make a noise. I feel for the family and hope they can start to process this loss. They clearly haven’t and are now thinking grandchildren exist and Amy will slot back into their lives. If she is alive she’s highly traumatized and will never be the same person they have in their heads

rebecka

The family actually got off the boat at Curaçoa and searched qith the rest of the passengers while the ship crew "conducted a search".

Tina Marie

As someone who’s been on a cruise ship, it would be really hard to accidentally fall overboard off a balcony room. The railing is so high!

Maeve Burke

Damn. Poor Amy. I think she was trafficked. I'd really like to think thats not the case, because I can't imagine how scary and terrible that life would be but it makes the most since. Especially with FBI confirming it was her in those pics. Im so sorry Amy.

okwelgoodlckwthat

I can’t get past how weird it is that as soon as her dad notices she’s not in the room he goes searching for her. She’s 23. Why would you immediately go on the hunt for your adult daughter in the early hours of the morning? Surely anyone would assume she’s gone for a wander about? I’d wait at least an hour before even thinking about looking. Why was her dad immediately concerned? There’s something more going on there.

Debbie Chilvers

This is incredibly unnerving and sad

Carl

His legal name is Ronald Bradley Jr. So Brad is his nickname. (As seen in one of the cruise reports)

TDoc72

Yay indeed Madelyn, yay indeed.

Rhoda Byke

This is so accurate 🤣

Tiffany

That is a hard one because it was such a shit show of a case by LE and the prosecution. Is the real killer still out there or was her killer deported? I don't think we will ever know tbh.

Tiffany

Please don't isolate that

D.

There better be a "clap your ass cheeks on my dick, thats how dancin' makes it sick" ~small town murder Shirt in the works

Nash essman

Can we please get Pics of Jimmie with his golden locks and earrings?

Melissa Warburton

Don't mind ads at all...I just fast forward through them. I want them to make as much money as possible. Ads for things like self-defense McBride's "Concord Tae Kwon Do Studio", ambulance chasers named Steve, and "Grim Karen's Wedding Planning" would be a bonus.

D.

Jimmie we’re gonna need to see those frosted tips

Amy Sousa

Wait... I thought the C. Levy case was still open?

Jennifer Turner

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLYRvpMhiQI/?igsh=dTYxczJtMWI2MDJx

Michelle White

I think that’s the point. She died going overboard.

Chris Harris

I appreciate the take, but I think you’re leaning too hard into the “FBI SAID IT’S HER.” As another listener noted, there are other pics of “Jas” posted on Reddit. You could argue that tattoos could be hidden with makeup or the pics are flipped or whatever, but there’s no visible Taz tat on what appears to be her left shoulder. And the FBI would never say “it’s Amy Bradley.” They might say it’s likely or could be, but nowhere have I seen any mention of whether digital editing was or was not involved. You’ve said it before - the reason conspiracies don’t work is because somebody talks. Always.

Chris Harris

Thank you for addressing the fact that there is no way she’s being sex trafficked at this time.

Chanda Mooneyham

I think the same.

Grace Luterek

Thank you James, Jimmie, and Sarah for all your hard work in bringing us ad free shows!

Tammy Hedrick

Wtf does his political party have to do with anything

Otis Spunkmyer

I think she was sex trafficked and then had kids to anchor her

Elizabeth Freeman

Brad couldn't have left the balcony door open a bit. There's such a loud whistling noise and it would be noticeable to everyone in the room and probably neighbors if it was for any extended period of time.

Sarah Bradshaw

I know a Rob Robinson and a Christian Christianson lol

Bear Keswick

The ears are different. I've said this since I first saw the picture. Amy's ears were attached and the woman in the photos has clearly detached earlobes.

Pepper

There are more photos of that woman, and in the additional photos you can see that it’s clearly not Amy. She does not look like her and she doesn’t have the tattoos. You can find these photos on Reddit.

Laura Goldfarb

Completely agree. Occam’s razor: she fell or jumped. Don’t have any numbers but I bet in the late 90’s more white, well educated women committed suicide than were kidnapped and trafficked. Especially if they were struggling with their sexuality.

KB

Amy Bradley is missing on Netflix.

Shannon + Dave Caudell

What happened to the McStay family was heartbreaking. Every time their story pops up on a true crime show I shudder to think what that family went through during the events.

Tonia

The brother is an unhinged lunatic. His twitter feed is filled with disgusting posts and he leans heavily MAGA, no surprises there. The FBI did not conclusively say it was her. I'm kinda disappointed by the emphasis placed on this in the epsiode.

Kathleen Potts

I feel like possibly after all those drinks and her falling asleep for a while on that beach chair or whatever that was she probably got up was dizzy and tried to light a cigarette and fell over board. She drank a lot and god knows what else she was on. But I really think she fell over board. I doubt she left the room since the sliding door her brother left ajar a bit was still ajar when the family woke up I doubt Amy fit Through that small gap to go back into the room. Also I feel like we all have dopplegangers in this world so the lady in the picture might look like Amy but I doubt it’s her.

Nia

I thought everyone in this documentary was a bit weird.

Nina

James, I think your theory is the most plausible. Yellow told her to use the staff gangway, that it would be real quick, on and off the ship, and now one would know the wiser.

Christine Kitchen

He was called Yellow because he dyed his hair yellow. Not far off from a yellow shirt but just sayin.

Alecia Mosley

What is the documentary called? I need to watch this.

Kushall S Kaistha

I NEED to see Jimmie with frosted tips

Lindsay

Proof that Jimmie had tips or it didn't happen.

Elizabeth Rutherford

I would pay good money for a "James & Jimmie Floating Fuck Flotilla" t-shirt.

Stanton Parsons

My #1 theory is that she took her cigarettes to a different deck for a last smoke & jumped. BUT I could conceive of a world where she was trafficked; however, I don’t think she would still be alive if she was running up to so many people & telling them who she was. She would be a liability to keep taking out, if that was truly the case. And I don’t think she would’ve had kids; what traffickers are going to support a mother and baby?

Cam 🛸

Lmao I wanna see what late 90s Jimmie loooked like with the frosted tips haha

Samuel Katz

I expected this from Jimmie on the ads, but not you James. -Kramer

Patrick Grigsby

So if the FBI thinks this is her would they ever do anything about it? If they’re so positive you think they would maybe try and find out if it’s her? Or am I way to naive to think they would give a shit lol

Tracy Poetz

I was thinking about that too!

Tracy Poetz

I have no strong feelings about any theory, but I remember when the McStay family disappeared here in Southern California there were so many sightings. People saw them everywhere for months, but they were murdered the day they went missing and were buried in the Mojave Desert the whole time. Eyewitness accounts are usually complete bullshit. Thanks for covering this case!

Amber Wright

James has an uncomfortable point. If you’ve read Iceberg Slim, sometimes the sex workers become part of the trafficking system. Years of violence, control, and survival mode can affect people in a way I cannot imagine.

Kim Corgan-Hatfield

As soon as they started talking about docking a ship, I thought, “I only know about yachts because I watch Below Deck.” Excuse me, when James mentioned Below Deck, I lost my mind. Haha. Add it to the bonus episodes list?? Nothing to do with murder, but why not? lol

Elizabeth Jones

Great bonus. Thanks guys!

Nancy Clarke

don’t think she fell, jumped or was thrown overboard. To hit the water from that height there would have been injuries if not death in my opinion. Going for drugs and was kidnapped then sex trafficked seems more likely. What a great episode and discussion.

Ann-Marie Watson

Also when you exit the cruise ship at ports you are required to use your cruise card that you use to get into your state room to leave the ship at the port. If she left voluntarily they would have a log of her leaving with her “sea pass”.

Shelby

If she left the room the wind tunnel effect of having the balcony door open while opening the state room door to the hallways makes an incredibly loud bang. So loud everyone would wake up. I’ve been on multiple cruises and done this and there’s no way to sleep through it. Also people always wear shoes the only place they might be lax is if they are in the swimming area of the ship. Someone wheeling a suitcase large enough to fit a body off the ship at a port would also be very memorable as most people take a small backpack or less.

Shelby

I think James’s theory is spot on. She was trafficked, turned into a helper. Damn Yellow

Peace Ransom

That sailor guy... c'mon.

Jamie Hernandez

I had never heard of it until recently, but the poop cruise made me say NOPE! 😂

Trevor Fletcher

I’ve known about this case for years and it’s the reason why I have never been on a cruise

Madelyn Bryant
