Several days later, Lan Feng'er, fully recovered, finally woke up.

When she learned that it was her son-in-law, Lin Qian, who had saved her from a certain death, she smiled as she sat up in bed, still somewhat pale and weak. Looking at her husband beside her, she said with a hint of amusement, "Who would have thought that the young man from before has now become capable of anything? Xin'er is truly fortunate to have married such a husband."

Ye Nanxin also felt deeply moved and nodded in agreement. He then recalled something Lan Ning had mentioned and said, "By the way, Grandfather said I could participate in the Hai Xuan Sacred Academy trial and enter the academy. That way, I can stay by your side."

Upon hearing this, Lan Feng'er’s face lit up with joy. "Is that true? If so, our family will have claimed three spots at the academy."

Ye Nanxin nodded, feeling a bit melancholic. It seemed they had always been relying on Lin Qian. At that moment, a figure entered the room, carrying a bowl of steaming hot herbal medicine.

It was none other than Ye Xin, holding a concoction that Lin Qian had referred to as "Chinese medicine." This herbal medicine was especially beneficial for someone recovering from a serious illness, nourishing the body in a gentle way.

Compared to pills or potions, this herbal remedy was much gentler on the body, helping a weakened person recover quickly without adding any extra strain.

After being served by her daughter, Lan Feng'er grimaced after tasting the bitterness of the medicine. "It’s so bitter."

"Father always says, 'Good medicine tastes bitter,'" Ye Xin teased, sticking out her tongue. Seeing that there was still some left in the bowl, she urged her mother, "Mom, you need to finish it all."

Lan Feng'er frowned but obediently drank the rest of the herbal remedy. She then looked around curiously. "Strange, where’s your dear husband?"

Embarrassed by her mother’s teasing, Ye Xin's face flushed red as she replied, "He went to Blue Cloud Mountain with Grandfather and Great-Grandfather to investigate. It seems they're looking into traces of the Netherworld Clan."

Upon hearing this, Lan Feng'er nodded gently, reassured that with her father and grandfather accompanying him, Lin Qian’s safety wasn’t a concern. Still, she couldn't help but wonder why her son-in-law had been included in the investigation.

Sensing her confusion, Ye Nanxin chuckled and explained, "Father-in-law couldn’t find any useful clues at Blue Cloud Mountain, so he thought our extraordinary son-in-law might be able to help, and he brought him along."

"Besides, Qian is also very curious about the Netherworld Clan, especially since it concerns me, so he was happy to go."

Meanwhile, at Blue Cloud Mountain, there had been a discovery.

The giant tree that Lin Qian and his family were temporarily residing in was called Blue Phoenix Wood, serving almost like a capital city.

Next to Blue Phoenix Wood stood a massive mountain covered in various spiritual trees, densely packed and shrouded in blue mist, thus named Blue Cloud Mountain.

The scenery was beautiful, with cascading waterfalls and other natural wonders.

At the moment, Lin Qian stood before one of the waterfalls, holding a metal array map that emitted bursts of array energy, forming sharp spikes that pierced through the waterfall.

Beside him, Lan Ning and Lan Yi watched curiously as Lin Qian manipulated the metal array map, constantly inspecting it. But no matter how they observed, the artifact seemed too mysterious for them to understand.

Nearby stood another elderly man with blue hair, a senior of the Sky Blue Phoenix Clan. His aura was long and steady, but his hands fidgeted nervously, twisting the hem of his robe as if he wanted to say something but felt too embarrassed to do so.

"Seventh Elder, why do you look like that... If you have something to say, just say it," Lan Yi, noticing the elder’s awkward demeanor, couldn’t help but speak up.

Being addressed by the clan leader, the Seventh Elder finally spoke, albeit sheepishly. "Clan Leader... I was wondering if I could ask your grandson-in-law... after he’s done, could I study that array map? I’m willing to pay any price."

Lan Yi understood the request. The Seventh Elder was a fanatic when it came to arrays, utterly devoted to his studies, so it wasn’t surprising he would make such a request.

However, Lan Yi also knew how valuable that metal array map must be. Given the Seventh Elder’s desperate expression, it was likely something extraordinary. Even Lan Yi himself found it intriguing.

"Explode?" Lan Yi immediately shut his mouth, bewildered by the notion that disarming an array could lead to an explosion.

What Lan Yi didn’t know was that Lin Qian, lacking the time to summon a skilled array master, had been following Zhuge Ming's instructions, mechanically repeating the steps to control the array map.

Though Lin Qian had impressive talents, his skills with arrays left much to be desired. Even following instructions, there was a chance something could go wrong.

If the array malfunctioned and caused a chain explosion, it could injure everyone present. The pressure on Lin Qian was immense.

A crisp sound came from the metal array map in Lin Qian’s hand. The waterfall before them suddenly shattered like a mirror, dissolving into countless fragments of light that dispersed into the air.

At that moment, a deep, dark cave appeared behind the waterfall, radiating space energy, hinting at something beyond.

"A void passage!" Lan Ning's face darkened. Someone had secretly set up a void passage on Blue Phoenix Star!

From the energy emanating from the passage, it was clear that it wasn’t fully established yet, capable of accommodating only a few people at a time.

Lan Ning looked at Lin Qian with deep gratitude. If it weren’t for him, once the void passage had been fully set up, the damage to the Sky Blue Phoenix Clan would have been unimaginable.

But just as they were assessing the discovery, a shadowy figure suddenly materialized in the void. A small, eerie green arrow shot out, striking Lin Qian right in the forehead.

"Netherworld Poison!" By the time Lan Ning and the others reacted, it was already too late.
