You will see what I am talking about when you get to around Wano in regards to Moria being like Luffy when it comes to his crew. Moria is what Luffy would have become if he actually lost his crew in Sabaody.

He was just like Luffy but he suffered the loss of his crew which sent him over the edge and he became what we saw currently. Moria didn't want to suffer another loss of his crew like that so that is why he created the undead army. Kaidou killed his dream and he was still willing to chase that dream but Luffy stopped that lol Moria is a better character than everyone gives him credit for just because of his current mental state lol
