A great many of us know bigger concepts like imperialism, (neo-)colonialism, how propaganda generally works but seeing that analysis employed and proven again and again helps me keep my attention on target and catches many smaller ideas and concepts worthy of regard and analysis i might have otherwise missed.

Beyond that: as much as I'd love to have had more on the topic of germany's abuse of their "remembrance culture" and as well read as our bois are: they might not be the people to talk about this topic with authority, at least at the current moment. Assumptions, i know, but i hope they're made erring on the side of caution.

In it he also explicitly layed out how recent the holocaust consciousness was created and how it was created from the 60s onward to legitimize the state of Israël

2025-02-16 10:51:03 +0000 UTCI’m with you on this 100%. There’s so much they could talk about and have fun with. I’d love to see a historical deep dive, or another theory episode. No disrespect to the boys or Pankaj Mishra but this episode was kind of bland and not very informative. He kind of just droned on for several minutes about things that can be explained much more succinctly. Like Germany supporting Israel for example, it’s not exactly rocket science as to why they do, most listeners are familiar with the reasons. So it kind of just felt like filler.

Now most of the episodes are just low effort news posts. Granted, this episode was somewhat different but it just felt like an hour long shill for this guy's book.
