How Do You Wish to Be Rewarded? (IMPORTANT)

Ok, now that we've set up a regular schedule and you guys know to tune in every morning, There's something I need tot talk seriously to you guys about. So far you guys have been amazingly generous and have showered me with money to make reviews. Now it's time for you guys to choose how you want to be recompensed for this. And if you haven't pledged yet, what would help nudge you into our cosy group? Yes, there are some rewards and goals up there, but they're really more placeholders, suggestions for the moment. They won't be 'locked in' until I've finally produced a paid piece, so I want your input as to what would be a good way to give back. Since some horrific punishment will befall me if I don't produce a paid video by the end of the month, It's quite likely that's when the rewards will begin. So until then, what are some good rewards that other producers are offering, and what would you like me to offer? Sidenote: Although the Google hangout test was a lot of fun, I feel like it was a little hectic and I had no modding control. Perhaps a private stream would be better? one where $5 patrons can decide what I play and I have to respond to all comments? Again, your thoughts are invaluable.

As cool as the stream, google hangout, and skype get-togethers sound; a lot of contributors might be shut out of them due to issues like conflicting time zones, work schedules, not being able to use skype, etc. So being able to occasionally "chat" via a comments thread like this one (where you and the contributors don't have to be online at the same time to communicate and can reply to one another whenever its convenient) would be a VERY nice option. I work 6-7 days a week and I worry that I wont ever have a chance to say "hi" to you or shoot the breeze with the other contributors because the chat/hangout opportunities will rarely (if ever) happen when I'm at home. I'm still happy to support your work even if I never get a chance to participate in a stream or hangout. But I'd be kinda bummed if I missed out on one of the perks I paid for just because I work a lot and may never be at home at the same time you're hosting a hangout session.

I second this idea. Voting from a list is a lot more manageable than having everyone suggest a different title

Well, Trey McGowan pretty much said all I wanted to and more, so +1 for what Trey said! :D

What do I want? Why I want reviews of course. I recently read a post by LordKat about rewards for Patreon; <a href="http://www.lordkat.com/how-not-suck-patreon.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.lordkat.com/how-not-suck-patreon.html</a> i recommend reading it, even at a glance you can get a good quick idea what you should be doing. As for actual rewards I would suggest early review access, posting the script 1 week before releasing the video or sneak peeks of the video.

I think I may have something. when you do lists like the best and worse trailers, the best anime openings, inspiring things and so on, you get suggestions in the comments. You probable have a time where you watch the suggestions and contemplate what you watch. You could have a hangout when you do that where can watch with you and aid in your process of ranking things. Is it a voice based thing? Voice would help.

Maybe a weekly Skype group call instead of a Google Hangout? You could create a Skype account just for a weekly Skype group call, and if your the creator of the Skype group, you get modding control over everyone else in the group. Although I think it will still be hectic with all the people in the group, it should be a bit less hectic since you will be able to moderate the group, so it's worth giving it a shot.

Considering the number of folks involved in any potential streams, it might be more manageable to allow those who contribute at the $5 level to vote among a selection of choices (maybe 5) as to what game you should play. Choices that don't get selected in a given month carry over into the next month (along with their votes), along with a new voting option to replace the game that won last time. That way everyone will eventually get to see what they want to, and no one feels like they're being ignored or marginalized.

I really like the idea of a stream, although it could be a bit hard to play and respond to every single comment. Perhaps have a play stream with a chat/q&amp;a afterwards. As for the choice of what to play, you could ask for suggestions from the relevant patrons the day before and take the most popular choice. After the first couple of times, you'd probably have an idea of what the popular requests are, and narrow it to patrons picking one from the most popular suggestions.

Well, I know that I'll feel rewarded by being able to see the results of my patronage, myself. :) That's why I pay in. I liked the idea of the stream, because I enjoyed hanging out and chatting, but that isn't *why* I gave the money I did: I gave the money I did because I believe in you and your work. There are a *lot* of $5 patrons, so I suspect that having them decide what you would play would just be a *lot* of trouble. Too many people juggling too many things. Likewise with you having to answer every single comment. I'm going to be honest: of all the producers I support? I actually don't *take* any of the other rewards, other than the $1 patron-only stream that everyone has. :} Of all the rewards people are offering, none of them was as interesting to me as the knowledge that I was supporting a product and project that I believed in. So I couldn't tell you what I would want, other than the aforementioned work. .... well, OK. I want my signed toaster picture. ;)
