Hooray for the halfway point!

All right! thanks to the amazing support of you guys, we're now halfway to the first milestone! I'm hoping that one the Ace Attorney review is up, I'll get an influx of new patrons but for now just having a basic viewership that believes in me this much is enough. At the moment I'm considering (not SERIOUSLY, but it's floating around) charging for XS videos. Pros: I get about 200 a week, almost enough to go part time early, meaning I could feasibly bring out reviews bi-weekly rather than monthly. Cons: It means many of you would be paying $10 for a vlog episode, which I'm not to comfortable with. perhaps better perk would alleviate that? As I said this is just spitballing, but as those who pay me, you should get a say in what you receive. Let me know your thoughts. Oh, and the voting is in favour of another Visual Novel! Maybe I should do a horror visual novel and combine the top two in the poll...

Hooray for the halfway point!

Well, initially I would have said it would not be a good idea, but then I remembered that I have a maximum amount that I can provide for videos a month, so I think it is fine as long as everyone has their maximum set up. Another thought is maybe if there is a way to do it for every other XS video?

If you opt to charge money for the XS videos, perhaps you can allow $5 patrons to participate more in those vids to compensate for the fact that we're playing for a vlog. For instance, you could promise to include at least one Patreon comment in every XS video. Or you could give us a vote on subjects to cover Or you could allow Patrons to, say, contribute things like art for the XS videos or other Suede projects (hopefully, I'm not the only artist here who would enjoy being able to contribute artwork)

I do not like this idea.

I would like to pay for the vlogs if it means helping you make reviews faster, but $10 per vlog is way too much for me to afford, since my main source of income is just allowance.

This is one of those times when I wish the simple, straightforward Patreon system would afford us some more complicated project options... I'm perfectly happy to pay my patron amount for the XS videos, but I'm not one of the high-rollers with larger pledges. I for one second (if it's feasible) the idea of also backing a second Patreon project specifically for the XS episodes, so that people who want to pledge a smaller amount or set a different monthly cap have that option. That has the obvious downside of maybe not generating as much money-per-video as the current anime review total, but if people on the current Patreon feel they've been roped into something they didn't agree to pay for I imagine a good number of them (especially bigger doners) would start to pull out, which is lose-lose for everyone involved. That said, I don't even know if they LET you make a second Patreon, so it may be a moot point.

I certainly don't mind paying a little extra for the Vlogs; whatever helps the process along to get more of your awesome reviews :) And I maintain that "999" would be a good choice for Suede Played; that is, provided it's possible to put DS footage directly onto video. It certainly has enough tense, heart-pounding moments, though more under the air of a suspense movie than an all-out horror. But I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you ultimately choose :)

It's an idea but as you said, you are not comfortable with taking money for a Vlog episode, so maybe if it's for not a typical Suede XS but one that takes more effort or time, I don't know. I was hallway to a point but then I forgot.

Maybe if you charge for XS eps, but at half the usual rate - that way you'd be earning a bit extra (well deserved), without having patrons pay over the odds for Vlogs.

I'm wondering if you can create a second project on Patreon for XS, which uses the other monthly payment scheme, and you might be more comfortable with that.

I'm in favor with you getting money even from the XS videos.
