Lying deep beneath the Vizkopa bank of the Orzhov Syndicate, a sprawling labyrinth of tombs and crypts, twisted and intricate. These catacombs are not merely a resting place for the regular dead but a testament to the Syndicate’s ruthless control over both life and death.

The catacombs hold not only their remains but vast treasures, symbols of the council’s wealth and authority. These riches and the souls of the dead are fiercely guarded by the Syndicate’s enforcers, and the distant whispers that echo through the halls seem to carry the conspiracies of the deceased, their spirits bound forever to the Orzhov's insatiable lust for wealth and control. Here, the line between life and death is blurred, and the unseen influence of the Orzhov Council forever hangs over this dark subterranean world.
The Obzedat consisted of spirits of the former Orzhov patriarchs and matriarchs, who ascended to the immortal ghost level. These autocrats had maintained their wealth and power even as they had shed their mortal forms. They were also known as Deathless, as they had managed to cheat mortality, maintaining their consciousness (and their greed) beyond the threshold of death. Most of the Deathless appeared as morbidly obese high priests or nobles, but sickly, pale, and ghostly in form.
