Progress Update: 6/20/24
Added 2024-06-21 01:30:47 +0000 UTCHELLO THERE, it's been a minute!
After the EVE video, while I never stopped working on the next Down the Rabbit Hole, work was relatively slow as I put my life back into order and I've prepared for a rather major life change.
Still, progress is going well! For this next video, I've compiled eight interviews that I'll be using for my video about Foxhole's final siege of The Baths in War 106, an epic struggle that lasted for days straight. Approximately half of the script is complete, but we're well over halfway through finishing the video. I first estimated this video to be approximately an hour long, but I'm now expecting it to be closer to an hour and a half.
I paused working on the script for the video so I could sort through my interviews, clip out the particularly good bits, and insert them into the relevant sections in the script, adjusting my wording so it flows nicer. (This has been relatively easy because I've been scripting with this as a consideration from the start) This has been a necessary diversion so that I could record the final narration early and submit it to Ryan and Arc, who will be working alongside me to get this video done as quickly as we can. I'll be calling an all-hands-on-deck meeting soon to figure out how we want the music to flow and work with the narration and visuals, similar to how we did for the Deep Blue video. I personally believe this is one of the reasons it turned out as well as it did.
This, in many ways, is wish fulfillment; I wished that I could have spent more time going into specific battles for EVE, but the amount of work that would have taken was too much to justify. Here, though, I'm indulging myself and getting into the fine detail of an absolutely fascinating game which I myself play and enjoy.
Due to the copious amount of map work and animation, Arc wanted to step in and give an update on his progress as well:

Arcaxon:
I'm Christopher aka "Arcaxon," the graphic/web designer and animator for the show. Here's an update on my work for the episode so far:
This episode will involve a large amount of animations but these animations will be a lot more focused. They should be reminiscent of "The Battle of May Island" and the play by play in the Wings of Redemption video, only this time there's several players, tanks, and it'll be fully animated. As usual I'm also making maps for this episode, and visuals when explaining mechanics of the game.
I'm currently working on the map & asset creation and on the early script storyboards as they're being written.
Asset creation has been straightforward as an active-ish player of the game, I have a grasp on the vehicles, mechanics, and what will be generally needed for the video. I didn’t need to learn how to play the game as I had already been playing Foxhole on and off.
For the preview today here's 3 sets of assets for the video:

The animation will be from a bird's eye view.
[Note from Fredrik: I cannot stress how small of a sample this is; Arc has created a frankly ridiculous amount of assets for this to make the battle as clear as we can, and the lengths to which he's gone to make the maps as accurate as possible are bordering on gratuitous. Still, I believe it will make for a seamless viewing experience in the end]

Thank you everyone for your continued support; we'll be back soon with a further update.
