Hello! Big update today.

I was planning on posting last week's update a bit later so I could share the feedback from early viewers, but I figured that it would be better to just wait for this weeks' update and give you all a large one.

First off: the first hour of the new video has now been edited. Progress is going quickly right now, since I had already gathered most of the visual material I intended to use, but even considering this, progress has been relatively swift. There's a good chance that I'll be waiting for Arc to complete some of his work, but if I do, I can go back and finish little editing tasks that I otherwise would have saved for the very end.

Here you can see the work that's been done so far. I've had to do a little bit of finagling since I recorded different sections on different days sometimes, but I've got it all sounding nice and even after a bit of EQ.

I've had the opportunity to show the intro (first 2 1/2 minutes) to a few confidantes, and the reception has been universally positive. The most frequent comment has been that it feels "cinematic," thanks in large part to the new animated logo and the footage that EVE reporter Jin'taan has graciously offered, all of which is beautiful. The music, featuring piano and synths, is also fantastic, invoking a similar melancholic feeling as the video on Deep Blue.

I've had the opportunity to show the first 40 minutes to a close friend, as well, and the fact that they were so sucked into the experience boosts my confidence quite a bit. This is a long journey, and even as the opening sections are laying the groundwork, they contain fascinating stories in their own right.
