Progress Update: 12/15/23

Hello, all!

Progress on the next Down the Rabbit Hole continues at a good pace. Ryan is already working on the song that will serve as the credits track and will fill space for more action-oriented B-roll; our hope for the video is to try something a little bit different, emulating Ken Burns with a small amount of space on occasion for video and images to tell the story. This will likely mostly take the form of video footage of the battle itself.

To that end, I've contacted quite a few people already, and am working on contacting more to collect footage. I would like some spaces in the video left open to just show the combat; the ideal is that I will explain the mechanics of the game and the relevant important parts of the battles so that people who are watching and paying attention will be able to easily understand what's happening on-screen. The track that Ryan is making is easily the most intense that he's made so far, and while it's a bit of a departure from what he's made for Down the Rabbit Hole in the past, it's extremely fitting.

In the meantime, Arc has been working on drawing up the maps so we can give this the WingsofRedemption vs Syndicate treatment. I want to really get into the play-by-play of this battle, and the only way to do so properly is to have extensive maps at many different scales.

I'll be arranging interviews with relevant parties soon, and in the meantime, I've been playing the game extensively, much as I did with EVE. The part of the game that appeals to me the most is logistics, which played a large role in the battle we're covering, and I'm gaining a significant amount of relevant knowledge and experience in this area. (For those who play, I joined the Wardens and fell in with FMAT)

As for my work habits, things have been a bit hectic lately, but I've been working in a much more healthy manner and am feeling the positive effects. I'm properly excited and enthused about work in a way that I haven't been for some time, and the time spent working is much more productive. I'm comfortable saying that I'm back on track. (No release estimates ever again, though)
