I think it's canon that certain areas have more magic like the Isles of faces, The wall, Remnants of Valyria, Ashai. Jorah would send his message about the dragon hatching when they reach qarth, around the day Renly dies and littlefinger recruits the Tyrells to come to the Blackwater
