It keeps looking better and better...

Honestly, the Kanto reunion specials are looking so awesome I'm tempted to do a Journey Episode on them when they come out. My personal favorite part of the clip is the gorgeous animation on Brock as he skips deliriously past Ash. XD
It's fantastic to see Yuji Asada get  a more fluid style to match his dynamic story-boarding and whether or not you dig the redesign, if it means more expressive and kinetic character moments like what we see here, I'm all for it. I do wonder why misty isn't wearing her time-skip outfit, though...

What do you guys think?

It keeps looking better and better...

Having watched the first raw episode, I will say it's a trip down memory lane. But just like how some good wine requires a long time to ferment, this episode could only be properly reviewed if you know the nostalgia references up to Gotta Catch Ya Later. There are some references that I did not expect to see, and I expected a lot mind you. The second episode will involve Gym Battles, and you may need to review Cerulean Blues to give a better context for the audience as Misty's Gyarados is more than just a powerhouse Pokémon in her Gym. You know what I mean if you've seen the episode.

Maybe the Caterpie is the child of his Butterfree :-o

Would you talk about Ash's Lycanroc

Jonathan Johnson

Yay, jigglespuf

It looks wonderful, the new episodes look and sound interesting. Perhaps I should try watching it again.

I haven't had time to watch the new series, but I'll have to try and catch these episodes. It's so good to see Brock and Misty again, would be great if the original voice actors came back, but I know that won't happen. Do you think he'll go back to pickup his Butterfree? xD

I definitely would want to see journey style reviews of that, but maybe do a few reviews of some of the other Sun and Moon episodes first. Maybe after that you do a few episodes of each Pokemon series journey style. Then you would have covered all of the anime generations to some degree.

That's flashback. In that same scene, you also notice Ash is in his original outfit and is holding Lavitar.

I would watch it first and figure out how much context is needed for these specials, especially in the event you somehow ever get to SM in your review. Already, you'll need explanation of where Misty got her Gyarados. It does raises other SM episodes to watch, as there is an episode where the anime finally explores the concept of death and loss as inevitability. As for the lack of time-skip outfit, I presume she got nostalgic of her old outfit. I will say, however, that this disproves your theory that Ash is the only one who doesn't age. Misty in SM is virtually the same 10-year old girl as she was in OS. Like the producer of M20 said, time does not flow ever since Ash went on his journey.

If you do a Journey episode on them, I totally think you should do a quick 'skit' involving time travel. :D Rip Van Winkle it. "Oh wow. I've been exhausted. I wonder how long I slept?" *Older Ash clip* "..."

Misty was carrying Togepi in one of the first shots with her. Not sure if that's stock footage or new, but I thought that Togepi evolved into Togetic (after a bajillion episodes, which is odd for a Pokémon that evolves through friendship). I wouldn't mind seeing you do Journey episodes on them, although maybe it would make more sense to first do Journey episodes for the other time skip episodes from Pokémon Chronicles (actually, doing all of Chronicles would be awesome, but if nothing else, the ones where Brock and Misty return to their families would be cool). As for why neither Brock nor Misty are wearing their later outfits…I dunno. I guess nostalgia?

I laughed way too hard at Brock running past Ash because of the girl. Bulbasaur looked so happy to see Ash ^___^
