If it helps, just look at it from the perspective that, somehow, in Unova, Pokéballs just lock up instead of teleporting and with a combination of just losing track of his progress (totally reasonable; happens to all of sometimes) and the fact that it didn’t beam out as one would be accustomed to, Ash was needing the explanation like when he caught Krabby because it was a fresh new thing from his POV.
2022-09-05 23:30:53 +0000 UTCJust a little correction, gen 5 (black & white) is where bug types got a massive boost since they got a ton of great new mons introduced like: Accelgor, Durant, Galvantula, Volcarona, Escavalier, Scolipede ext. I would say it was the single best generation for bug types in general
