Format around copyright strikes
Added 2019-05-30 09:22:25 +0000 UTCJess here: Suede and I are discussing different formats we could use for Pokemon Journey that will stop the Copyright strikes raining from the heavens. :P It seems the moving clips and audio just keep getting flagged.
Nothing is changing as yet, these are just some ideas and we'd love you guys' input along with any other ideas you might have.
Thanks for your patience everyone!

If we're talking about the automated copyright strikes, the ones incurred by bots programmed to search videos for specific frames you can dodge them by flipping the video or increasing/decreasing the video speed. If it's actual humans paid to look for footage then you're a bit out of luck using actual footage.

2019-06-03 18:17:49 +0000 UTCI hope the latter is true

2019-06-03 18:17:23 +0000 UTCUsing puppets sounds fun

2019-06-03 18:04:10 +0000 UTCFun idea: for one episode only, re-enact the episode in live action with yourself and other human actors. It would obviously be hard to pull out, but it be fun just once for maybe a very notable episode or anniversary or something like that.

2019-06-01 18:08:54 +0000 UTCI would honestly be fine with just audio and no visuals, or just the anime avatar of Suede reacting with Suede voice over.

2019-05-31 19:53:59 +0000 UTCI say use screencaps when talking about specific scenes to discuss, but the drawings otherwise since the stills can still be copyrighted if they want

2019-05-31 14:29:43 +0000 UTCCould you try a moving border like Linkara uses?
2019-05-31 04:25:04 +0000 UTCJess here: I am soooo sorry its taking so long! I'm starting on yours today. Thanks for your understanding and patience! >V<

2019-05-30 21:08:34 +0000 UTCOut of curiousity, do they/can they copywriter strike the same episode multiple times or is an episode safe once it’s been claimed, disputed, and restored?

2019-05-30 18:33:33 +0000 UTCI think Little Kuriboh has avoided copyright issues with his YuGiOh GX reviews (either that or he's just a master of working the system). Maybe the Journey episodes could start formatting a bit more akin to those?

2019-05-30 18:30:06 +0000 UTC*Should*, yes. However, the problem is that while the dispute is going through on whether it's fair use or not, the videos are unvavailable. So the person has to wait for weeks at a time before their videos can be monetized.

2019-05-30 17:00:18 +0000 UTCI plead ignorance; but shouldn't fair use kick in here?
2019-05-30 16:57:41 +0000 UTCNaw I think five minutes is good if they are considering doing full episodes they should do an endurance test.

2019-05-30 14:28:54 +0000 UTCI would recommend taking a small piece of a video (one you've already done, perhaps), and going through, say, 5 minutes of script with the three above thoughts. That way, not only can people say "This is good," or "This doesn't work," but you can say for *yourself*, "OK. That is too much anxiety," or "The editing work on this just takes too long," or "Oh my *GOD* this is the most fun thing *EVER!!!*" EDIT: I just considered how long 5 minutes is, especially considering things like sketches. Lower that to 1 minute or so; long enough to get a good feeling, but not so long that if it's really a lot of trouble, you're tearing your hair out.

2019-05-30 10:15:18 +0000 UTCmaybe i nice mix of screen caps, simple sketches and stuffed pokemon

2019-05-30 10:03:41 +0000 UTCScreencaps seems like the most practical option. However, if it wouldn't mean too much additional work, a puppet sketch or two per episode would be hilarious.

2019-05-30 09:50:08 +0000 UTCHi Jess I'm commented to ask about me £20 art work. I now it not bin easy for you and suede of late and I hope things get better for you two. At the end of the day I will wait for it but I like now where it at please. Hope you and suede get better sorry for taking up you time.
2019-05-30 09:44:57 +0000 UTCThe puppets just sounds like a funny idea. :D

2019-05-30 09:41:17 +0000 UTCJess here: Suede will still do his impressions and possibly more as he'll re-create the funny line deliveries himself. :>

2019-05-30 09:35:24 +0000 UTCMaybe screencaps are best when you're stopping to focus on a particular moment and discussing it. Although, it'll be sad that we wom't get to hear your funny impersonations of Misty. Would this format mean that you can't comment/show the funny line deliveries by the characters VAs?
