Seriously, look at em in the infamous pool shot they swim in, their eyes have little expression, making em look soulless and unfeeling, their smiles hiding a state of apathy and (in the case of Woopy) almost malicious. I confess, however, that I might just be reading too deeply into it. Heck, I'm pretty sure the soulless part is only due to the subpar animation.
