This is honestly why I love to see people review Japanese media: it’s interesting to see the differences in how the Japanese plot stuff out versus how Westerners expect it to be. It’s interesting how Japanese media doesn’t seem to consider the conflict to be as important as story’s premise and setting.

Either way it's an alarming level of exclusion for over 20 seasons, similar to how they've still yet to include a canonically queer character. On that front here's hoping they actually follow up/confirm Goh's apparent crush on Ash in his first episode of the recent season. (Still feels like a long shot, but there's no harm in dreaming.)
