One of the worst of the first lot, though it does have one of my favorite end gags! Also the rating of this episode was changed to a rock, for reasons I'll get into in the mistakes video, which is still coming! We'll get there!

01:44 I don't think that Ash was being abusive towards Pikachu, but rather, acting out of desperation, as he didn't want his win streak to end so soon. Now yes, he could've been a better sport with his loss much better, which he would be with another loss many episodes later, but given this was when he was just starting out. It's kind of like when a young artist makes their first art piece, and thinks it's the greatest thing ever made, only to have it criticized by many others, and doesn't taking the criticism well.
