Script-a-thon Returns TOMORROW

All right! Finally moved to a new spot, family situations have settled down, the meds have gotten a chance to really settle... Let's really get back down to it! Time to kick executive dysfunction in it's executive functions!

Starting tomorrow (Monday 9th, 8am NEW ZEALAND TIME. Do your own research on when that is for you!) I will be doing one script every day for the next 4 days. Top 5 Champions, Bottom 5, Recap, and then Journey 210. You don't have to engage, it'll helps my ADHD tremendously just to know SOMEONE is watching.

All goes well I will also start streaming my editing. I've been denying myself a solution I've known existed for a while but I wasn't willing to admit how much I needed it until now. I'll do a video elaborating on my process but we'll see how it goes for now. I don't want to burn out, I just want a regular job.

So keep your notifications set and I'll see you tomorrow! Comment with your personal top and bottom 5 of the season to help me get the juices flowing!

I found Japanese subtitled and english pokemon, anime episodes on the internet archive. I'm in the process of watching every one of Suede's Pokemon videos on the internet.

I actually like this season a lot, these were the few Johto episodes I had on DVD growing up, so I have more nostalgia for them than the start of Johto. Some honorable mentions are: Trouble's Brewing, Houndoom's Special Delivery, Carrying On, The Bug Stops Here, and Air Time. My Top Five: 5. Imitation Confrontation - I am a simple girl, if I see Duplica, I love the episode. Plus Mini-Dit was cute. 4. Sick Daze - The jokes can be a little repetitive but it will always have a special place in my heart for being such a different, character focused episode. It really felt like Ash and Misty were kids, they don't know what they're doing. And all of Brock's Pokemon care about him so much. 3. Power Play - Gary was so cool. I love how his personality has mellowed out, and even leaves Ash hopeful, saying next time, it might be Gary challenging him. They're proper rivals now. 2. Hassle in the Castle - I love Brock so much. Any episode focused on him will probably be good in my eyes. Plus we see a cool aspect of the Pokemon world, using their abilities for treatments. And they get lost and have to use their Pokemon to escape, I love that. 1. Basically every reason I loved Hassle in the Castle, but turned up and Jessie is insane. And Crobat is a cooler evolution than Golbat anyway. My Bottom Five: 5. Turning Over a New Bayleef - I've never cared for Ash's Chikorita/Bayleef. She's jealous and inconsiderate. And Ash gets painted as the bad guy just because he didn't choose the best words in a moment of panic. His goal was to get Bayleef to stop before she hit him. And then he's actually annoying when he's trying to win her back, and Brock is uncomfortable. Boy needs a girlfriend so he can stop projecting. 4. The Light Fantastic - I dunno. There's lots of boring episodes. This is just the one that has to pay for it. Stupid, old painter man doesn't have enough crayons, and the big reveal is a bunch of Remoraid, such a boring Pokemon... 3. UnBEARable - I love Teddiursa so much, it hurts me to see this be its stand-alone episode. All of the kids are so stupid and they turn on their own Pokemon. This Teddiursa is a Pokemon actually in need of training and guidance, but instead it just evolves and now its cute act won't work as well, and that's supposed to be a solution. 2. The Trouble with Snubbull - The only good part of the episode is knowing this is the last time we see Snubbull. 1. A Bitter Pill to Swallow - This episode makes me uncomfortable, I don't like it. I've worked hard to like Shuckle despite this episode.

Missed the Band Wagon

For my Top Five, I'll go with: Honorable Mention: Right on, Rhydon! - EP 204 5. A Ghost of a Chance - EP 181 4. Ariados, Amigos - EP 176 3. Freeze Frame - EP 189 2. Ring Masters - EP 194 1. The Joy of Water Pokémon - EP 206 As for my Bottom Five: Dishonorable Mention: Hook, Line, and Stinker - EP 168 (Misty's prize should have been the King's Rock so her Poliwhirl evolving would be something she earned rather than it being another time she got something that was stolen from Ash, but I'll get into that when we reach EP 247) 5. Mountain Time - EP 172 4. Type Casting - EP 162 3. The Art of Pokémon - EP 197 (Yes, I'm bitter my favorite Pokémon got screwed over in it's debut) 2. The Light Fantastic - EP 185 1. The Trouble with Snubbull - EP 175

It’s been years since I’ve seen the Johto seasons in full, so I can’t provide you with any meaningful rankings. I just wanted to say thank you. Ever since I discovered your journey series back in 2019, I fell in love your videos. With your thoughtful insights, wide vocabulary, and infectious sense of humor, you gave me a greater appreciation for the art of critiquing, and the Pokémon anime as a whole. Even today, you show appreciation towards aspects that I would probably never consider out of bad habit, e.g. removing my adult biases in favor of a kid’s sensibilities, and Junkei Takagami’s episodes reflecting his late-style mindset for better or for worse. I hope my message finds you well. Keep up the great work!

That is a range of start times of 3-6 PM Sunday across contiguous US/Canada time zones. Oh and 7 PM Atlantic if I’m including Canada
