Watched this episode as a kid on a battered MQ disc I picked up out of the local library (it had been reboxed from a larger DVD set). While initially expecting the typical mid-Johto torpor (I mostly watched to cautiously determine if any improvements had occurred since I ceased following the show circa Goldenrod), I was genuinely astonished by the dramatic heft of this one in that it finally re-evoked the holistic mini-movie sensibilities of the best Kanto episodes rather than the disappointingly-pedestrian and formulaic material of the past few seasons. In other words, I've been waiting for you to cover this one for a while, and I'm glad it also delivered for you. Godspeed Shudo, you magnificent alchemist you.
