The Next Story Poll Options
Added 2025-07-04 21:01:16 +0000 UTCThe other post is paywalled, so I figured I would do a non-paywalled version. I'll yeet this when the poll closes and make that one public.
Struggles of a Pale Orc (Original)
A guy gets isekai'd into... yeah, that's an entire tribe of very loud and very intimidating orcs surrounding him. Also just as confused as him. The culprit happily reveals herself as one of the goddesses of said orcs. Her answer to the orcs being slowly driven into extinction is this guy.
She ordains him as the "Great Prophet" and tasks him with uniting the tribes. Also marries him to the big bad (and very unhappy) chieftess, because why not? Cue shenanigans.
Think comedic kingdom builder with some homebrew worldbuilding.
Magic Murder School (Title Pending) (Original)
Inspired primarily by Polyhistor Academy. Also Nasuverse and a few others.
Set in our world, Lethe is something that has been slowly driving magic to extinction by making people forget its existence (gaslighting on steroids basically). Then comes along a guy that says fuck that and builds a school. It is not a nice school.
A hundred students arrive (willingly or unwillingly) every year. Only ten can graduate.
Now, our plucky protagonist has no clue about any of that. He was invited to a prestigious university in Europe, all expenses paid.
Then he arrives. The horror dawns. But hey, he's got something going for him! He's an Aeromancer. A rare soul born with a connection to another (and often very alien) universe, which revolves around a concept. His is Game.
With everything being numberfied (ala litRPG mechanics) to him, learning magic quickly isn't an impossible ask. If developed, his Aeromancy can also do some wacky things. Like giving some poor fucker an impossible quest with a heavy penalty attached, wacky party mechanics, access to his own super secret (donut steel) shop. Things like that.
Geomancy is the magic of the World. The domain of cataclysmic sorcerers and druids. Geomancers attune their circuits to an element, from the more classical elements like fire and water to more wacky elements like time and friction.
Hydromancy is the magic of the Self. The domain of mentalists and cultivators. Willpower fuels it. There isn't anything willpower can't do, but if you run out of it, you suffer willdeath. Unlike regular ol' death, you can't come back from it.
Aeromancy is the magic of the Other. You're either born as one or shit out of luck. An Aeromancer's concept can be victory. It can be chicken. It can be an egg spinning on a plate. It is the lens through which they can pull some of that other world into this one.
This story will likely have more Patreon votes than usual. What club does he join, if any? What kind magic does he pursue with the time he has? That kind of thing.
Harry Potter
After that read, Hogwarts probably sounds like a dream. It also has plenty of murder, but at least it doesn't have a 90% fatality rate.
The protagonist is the unknowing son of Regulus Black with a Muggle. Is assumed to be a Muggle-born, so that shapes a lot of his early years. Is enthusiastically not a fan of pure-bloods. Sounds like a good guy, right? Except he's also on a trajectory course with the Statute of Secrecy like another (in)famous wizard. cough Grindelwald cough
A focus on spell creation and Astronomy. Yes, you heard me right. Astronomy. The most underappreciated of Hogwarts subjects. The stars are speaking. You just have to listen.
Warhammer 30K/40K
Many of you are probably already familiar with the female primarchs idea. What if the Emprah took Malcador seriously when he suggested making the primarchs sisters. Also hummina hummina ten-foot tall amazon badasses. :V
The protagonist is a Custodes. They're all hand-crafted by the Emprah (or Empress in this timeline to match her daughters, though spess mehreens are still male). He was made as someone the Empress could complain to. Also serve as a counselor/therapist for her wayward daughters when they are found.
Can our plucky Custodes avoid the Horus Heresy and beat (lol) Chaos? Wish him luck!
My Pokémon Life as an Eldritch Abomination
You've probably seen it. The winner of the monthly prompt polls for the past three months. This would be turning it into a proper story.
My Hero Academia/The Abyss
Either continuing The Abyss or rewriting it. I'm not completely happy with how I went about things. I had/have some fun plot beats in mind, but I feel like I kept too much from the audience. Made Nobuto harder to connect with.

2025-07-04 22:26:08 +0000 UTCShould be even more fire this time around. I liked what I did with the spell creation mechanics and Astronomy, but I could have done so much more with them. And magic in general.
