If my uploads slow down over the next six weeks or so, this is why...

I posted the first draft of this opening sequence of Frozen '50s Man on Patreon way back in August of last year, and it's finally happening.

This was originally conceived as something in the Witchfinder General format – a historical character reacting to modern things. Then the concept evolved into  a more theatrical recurring sketch series. Now it's turned into a full half-hour webseries pilot (the script is 40 pages) with a big cast, a bunch of locations and some really elaborate gags.

We're shooting next month on the weekends. I'm almost done casting, and fans of Alien, Baby! will recognize some familiar faces. We're renting a badass studio space for one of the shooting days. I've got a bunch of new props and costumes coming in the mail. Tomorrow, my filmmaking partner and I are going to Walmart and Home Depot to get some stuff put together a cryogenics chamber and a booth with direct phones, the kind you see in prison visitation rooms. And I'm excited to report that we'll be featuring a beautiful 1959 Chevy for one scene.

This is BY FAR the biggest project I've ever undertaken for the channel. Not gonna lie, it kinda snuck up on me. Who knew that producing a 30 minute TV episode was a lot of work???

As I said in my last post, I'm working on a movie review right now, and plan to do a Nazi Germany video after that, but Frozen '50s is taking up so much of my attention that new videos will probably be few and far between over the next month or so. I apologize in advance for that. If things get really backed up, I'll do another Q&A video to tide y'all over, since I can usually crank those out in an afternoon. But I think this pilot will be worth the wait. The script is lean and mean, and the jokes come thick and fast.

And having the resources to do something like this – hiring a bunch of actors, buying a bunch of weird props, renting studio space, etc – without being financially ruined makes me incredibly grateful to have your continued support here on Patreon. I hope you dig it, and I earn your faith in my strange little projects. THANK YOU!
