It revived the dying career of Sanjay Dutt, and is the last time we saw Sanjay Dutt and his dad, Sunil Dutt (from Mother India) in a film together. His second venture was a sequel to MBBS, called Lage Raho Munna Bhai (another great movie). It is not related to the first film, but has Sanjay Dutt reprising his iconic role again. Then came 3 Idiots. Then PK. And in 2018 he directed Sanju, which actually does touch upon how Munna Bhai MBBS helped Sanjay's career, and how his dad felt after that. You will have to watch that film prior to ever watching Sanju.

2022-04-19 18:57:01 +0000 UTCHeres a fun fact no one asked for, Rajkumar Hirani offered the Munna Bhai MBBS role to SRK which was his first film. It didnt work out and went to Sanjay Dutt. Hirani since then has given all blockbusters. Which is why i think they came up with this idea where SRK is sort of begging to work with him. SRK has a very self deprecating humour.
