First Date Consultation with A Super
Alexa wore the bright red dress as asked. She wore the flats, so she could easily dance in. In fact, from the wardrobe ensemble, available, Alexa had to say the Consultation Candidate had relatively nice taste.
The red dress was one that seemed to enhance, rather than announce her natural pale complexion. That and her dark hair with a golden streak parted at the center from her birthmark, almost seemed to form layers to her body. Her hair flowed with the two cascading colors, to her red dress. Then the whole ensemble was capped off with her shiny polished black shoes.
Since this was a campus date, Alexa had allowed for the Date Candidate to take her back home. That time of course would not count towards the consultation and would rather be a courtesy offered by the Consultant Candidate. Should that be an issue Alexa had her backpack, where she had a running shirt and track shoes, which she planned to change into if this consultation went south.
As per request, Alexa made sure to wear her spandex shorts to be prepared for all dancing activities.
Honestly, this was the first time Alexa had been taken out dancing, or clubbing, as the consultation stated. Alexa had of course practiced dance moves, particularly at first, when she began this program. But it seemed most guys were content to just giggle and gawk at her like she was some type of cute panda, or other woodland creature, eating right in front of them.
Honestly, Alexa had been rather disappointed with the entire venture at first, which is why she suggested a few changes. The biggest piece was an ending time. The second was she had to meet the candidate at a nearby neutral site fifteen minutes before the consultation began.
Normally being punctual, Alexa knew her fifteen-minute early time, meant that if she got to the pre-arranged meeting site thirty minutes early, she could sit down and establish dominance.
To her dismay however, the date candidate was already there. She had apparently been there for a few minutes, as she anxiously fiddled with her multiple coffee cups, while she looked outside.
The neutral place to meet and set up expectations was a coffee shop. Alexa found more people were willing to agree to meet at these places, particularly if the time did not count against the date consultation time. The only difference had been for Johnny, who agreed to meet on site. In that case, there were no coffee shops nearby where people could enter and then leave to make it to the dungeon on time. That was the reason for the compromise and quick turnaround, from introduction to spelunking.
As Alexa approached, she took in the look of her new date consultant. In this case, the woman was tall, with dark hair, almond eyes, and tan skin, with just enough of an exotic flavor to make her stand out. She wore a black dress that seemed to match her hair and accentuate her figure nicely. Even with her beauty, there seemed to be something slightly off to her appearance. She hid her appearance by bouncing around a lot, but other than bouncing and spilling coffee. Alexa didn’t see any signs that the coffee that was ordered was in fact drunk.
Even still, there looked to be a slightly haggard look to the girl, one that would likely attribute to lack of sleep, from nights spent up drinking too much coffee. But Alexa thought that there was something else at play. Still this was not that type of consultation.
“Gina Rojas, pleasure to meet you.” Alexa said, her voice cold but she held out a gloved hand in greeting.
“Oh, you wore gloves too, that was a nice touch.” Gina said, as she touched the gloved hands, then let her eyes drink in Alexa.
Alexa let this happen, it was something she was used to. But not so intimately from a female before.
There was an awkward pause, as Gina looked like she wanted to do something, but didn’t know what to do exactly. With that, Alexa just pumped the hand of her perspective candidate.
“Right, right.” Gina said, as she fanned herself with her hand. “My, well you look, lovely.” She said, almost chocking on her own words.
With this, Alexa put on her forced smile. Grabbed Gina’s hands in both of hers. Then said, “relax. It will be okay.”
In Alexa’s mind, she was reminded of the last time she had used that exact statement on a female. It was the exact time she had punched a werewolf until the wolf reverted back into a naked female. Making sure to shift her mind from that topic, she once again focused on Gina. With a gesture towards the table, they both sat.
Gina almost collapsed into the seat, as she already seemed to be showing signs of exhaustion, which she seemed to be covering with lack of attention.
“Relax.” Alexa said, gently holding Gina’s hand in her gloved hand. Then giving a gentle pat on the back of hers.
Troubled Breath.
“Right.” Gina said, as she forced in a lungful of air.
Alexa paused until Gina let out the breath. Then she continued to hold onto her hand for a three count, before giving one last reaffirming squeeze. After that, Alexa let go and pulled her hands closer to her own body.
“I know you filled out the forms, but I need to make sure I go over the wording of everything you agreed to. This is not a true date, but a date consultation. What that means is you can either use me to test out your overall affability as a date. Or you can use my guidance at the end to improve your standing with a desired date type. With that, I would like to ask a few questions that I hope you can answer truthfully.” Alexa’s cold voice seemed to do the job as Gina seemed to visibly calm down now that the introduction was out of the way.
“First, you must forgive me. When I set up the date consultation site, I never envisioned this to be a possible outcome. As such, I want to ensure your intent in this is met.” Alexa began.
“I was told it would be okay.”
“It is, completely. This again, is my oversight. So, in order to get you a better experience. I would like to ask you, who your target audience for this review is.”
“Target audience?” Gina asked, visibly flustered.
“Yes, who are you trying to impress, or more importantly what aspects are you looking for in a potential partner?”
“You. I want to impress you.” Gina said, her eyes suddenly belying so much fragility.
“Relax, I will not hurt you. But again, I think you might have me confused with some ideal I am afraid I could never achieve. With that I will ask you a few general questions on what you are looking for, in an ideal partner.” Alexa began, but Gina began answering right away.
“I want someone remarkably intelligent. Someone able to overcome so much adversity, and work so hard that they turn their flaws into their strengths. I want someone who goes into a terrible situation knowing that bad things will happen, and they never bat an eye. I want someone with Alexithymia but doesn’t let their issue define their life. Instead, they only let it be a mild flavoring for much greater things to come. I…”
“That brings me to a second point.” Alexa said, cutting off the Mind Reader, before she got too far. “As you are no doubt aware, I have detected your subtle probes to read my mind. Now for the sake of us maintaining any form of relationship, be it friendship, or mild acquaintance, realize our level of standing is entirely up to you, and whether you stop mind reading me and my brother.”
Alexa made sure to lock eyes with Gina. Gina for her part just stared at Alexa like she had been slapped.
“He is so easy to read. He wears his guilt on his sleeve, I can read him, even though I don’t have your powers and am hindered by my own conditions.” Alexa said, obviously referring to the before mentioned medical condition that was stated aloud so casually for all to hear.
“Right, sorry. I just. I couldn’t stop. You were just so interesting. Your brother worships you, you know that?”
Alexa just raised an eyebrow, but then just silenced her with a wave of her hand.
“Regardless, I don’t use my powers to gain deeper insights into you.” Alexa said.
“You should.” Gina said, fidgeting slightly in her chair.
Seeing the look, Alexa realized, “you are serious about this, aren’t you?”
Gina just bit her lower lip and nodded.
“Okay, I will use my powers on you.” Alexa said, making sure to gain verbal consent for her use of Healing magic. She wasn’t sure what the eccentric woman wanted to share, but it seemed important to her that she share it.
A gentle stream of green energy flowed into Gina’s body, causing a healthy gleam to appear in her body.
Badup-ba-bum-dump.
Her heard was beating fast, but it seemed wild and chaotic.
“You aren’t okay, are you?”
Gina just shook her head, a slight tear forming in her eye. “No, I’ve had a failing heart for quite some time. I’m on a list, but I already got one transplant. This one has been in a year and is already failing me.”
With that Alexa, nodded her understanding. “Do I have your consent to treat you?”
“Consent? Heck yeah, you can have my consent on anything you want. Heal me, date me, take me on a honeymoon.”
Alexa paused as she looked at Gina. Her Healing energy was still in her, and she could hear the pain her whole body was in, due to her erratically beating heart.
“You use comedy as a sign to distract others from your true pain.” Alexa said.
Gina, having heard that, just nodded.
“I understand.” Was all Alexa said, before a gentle wave of healing energy flowed out Alexa’s hand and into Gina.
Badump-ba-dump.
Badum-ba-ump.
Badump.
Badump, badump.
Within seconds, Gina’s heart began to heal, allowing it to beat correctly. Then like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, Gina sighed in visible relief.
“Thank the goddess.” Gina said, grabbing for her heart as she collapsed back into her chair.
Alexa looked around at the three ordered coffees, the fact that none were actually drunk.
“It was all an act.” Alexa said, looking at the coffee cups.
“Yeah, I couldn’t drink coffee before. It would send me into jitters.” Gina said, a bit of her old over expressive personality still showing through.
“If I may, why ask me to dance if you knew it would be bad for you?” Alexa asked.
At that Gina smiled a pained smile. “You see, when you know you’re on a time limit, and you’ve already been granted one extension. You realize sometimes you really just want to see something truly beautiful before you go. You know, so then I saw you, found out you didn’t judge others. That you couldn’t judge, not truly. Then the fact that you had this magical site where you would go and answer my wish. You would go out on a date with me, where we would do anything, I wanted. Then I would have a picture to remember it all by. Well, it was too much, and I couldn’t resist.” By this time Gina was crying as tears were rolling down her face.
“I said to myself, why can’t I have one thing nice happen to me before I go. So, I took it, and here I am. Crying, and letting my makeup run wild, while the most beautiful woman in the world stares at me, waiting for me to compose myself and finally go on that date.” Gina said, as she began dabbing at her eyes with the backs of her hands.
Then almost as if in realization, Gina pulled out her dress to stare down at her chest.
“You even got rid of the scar?” Gina said, dropping her dress strap and trying to feel at her chest. At the exact spot the scar was.
“I think so. I also tried to get rid of the others. I hope that is okay.”
“Okay?” Gina said, as she looked at the backs of her hands to stare in awe and wonder, now that they too were now clean. “This is, this is amazing.”
Then she paused, as she looked Alexa in the eyes. Then shivered after a second.
“Gods, that will take some time to get used to.” Gina said, as her normal smile was back, though this time it wasn’t the fake one she often put on for her classmates.
“Do you need some time? We can always reschedule.”
“Don’t you dare. I paid good money to guilt trip you into this, and I will get my date selfie out of this one way or another.” Gina said.
With that, Alexa nodded.
“Oh, also,” Gina said.
Alexa just raised an eyebrow for her to continue.
“That looks very good. If I didn’t know I’d swear you were born with emotions as well. I guess we both got good at hiding our scars. Well, you are good. As for me, apparently not so much.”
Alexa just stared.
“Yeah, I don’t blame you for the no save there. I made that one awkward on my own. But what I really want to say is, feel free to rub your magic over me whenever you want.”
“Back to comedy to hide your true emotions.”
“Sorry, you are just really hard to take in.” Gina admitted a little sheepishly, while fanning her hands out wildly.
Alexa nodded, then stood up and gestured for Gina to join her. “I take it I don’t have to tell you about the three rules?”
“No touching, no kissing, and no drugs in your food. That about it?”
Alexa nodded, “more or less.”
Alexa held out her hand to Gina.
Gina made a quick payment through her phone app, to the coffee shop.
Happy ping.
Then with that, Gina reached out her hand and followed Alexa out of the coffee shop.
“Thank you again for my heart.” Gina said, placing her free hand over her chest again, as she felt it beating steadily for the first time in her whole life.
“Just remember to leave a quality five-star review.”
“Oh, you will get that and more. I know you have a repeat offender course. How many of those meetings can we take before we get one free?”
Alexa just stared down at Gina.
“What? It was worth asking.” Gina finally stated.
Seeing the moment for what it was, Alexa just squeezed her hand a little tighter, until the tension faded away from Gina’s shoulders.
“It will be okay.”
Then with that the two went out on a date consultation. For the first time in forever, Gina smiled all night. She smiled until her face hurt.
Then at the end of the night, when Gina expected to be nearly exhausted, she was fine. She was beyond fine. Her heart beat lightly, and she had never been more beset on achieving her one remaining goal: Get that girl to Kiss me before I die.
The only difference, now, she had an entire lifetime. Well, a longer entire lifetime, versus the shortened entire lifetime that she had been planning for.
She was so happy; she even wrote her mother.
Mom,
Good news. I met a girl. She has my heart, but it is okay, as she healed my old one.
‘-G.’
That was another thing Gina would love, talking to her mother again. With the final months coming closer and closer, she had been pushing her mother further and further away. She had been hoping that this distancing, would make her inevitable transition that much easier.
Her father of course had been the one to start the distancing process. At one point, he had held out hope, particularly when the first transplant was made. But he checked out completely once the first transplant began to fail, and they had to put her back on the list for a second.
No today, was all about this perfect evening. An evening she almost doubted would ever really happen, until she saw the selfie.
It was instantly Gina’s favorite picture of her. She looked alive and healthy. Despite having danced for nearly two hours, and been covered in so much sweat that her earlier tears looked like a gentle summer sprinkle compared to the way her makeup ran. Still, it was perfect, because the image proved she had been there, with her.

2022-11-15 03:36:51 +0000 UTCThanks Lykanthropy. As I said in my original post, it is more important that you tell the story that you want to tell. That said, I'm glad that you are going in this direction. Sets my heart at ease. Really looking forward to how Gina's friendship with Alexa develops.

2022-11-15 02:17:35 +0000 UTCI made this comment into an announcement so others can see that it has already been addressed. Again, thank you all for reading, and for asking for these clarifying comments.

2022-11-15 00:44:15 +0000 UTCFirst of all, thank you for brining this up, as I assume you are not the only one having this concern. Rest assured, that I do not intend for this to be a book on Alexa having romantic relationships. Instead I see the beauty of this story being the way Alexa goes out each day gives everyday her all, which then generates a positive impact on the world around her. From this people will naturally be drawn in, but note that is mostly on them, rather than Alexa. So, thank you for bringing this up, as again it is not my intent to make this into a romantic relationship story, but rather a story built on a person with disabilities going out and making the world better, by just being themselves. If I EVER STRAY FROM THAT CONCEPT, OR IF YOU HAVE THESE TYPES OF CONCERNS, PLEASE CONTINUE TO BRING THEM UP. But again, a real romantic relationship would only detract from the true beauty that this story tells.

2022-11-15 00:31:13 +0000 UTCSorry, I deleted the previous comment to rephrase it. I would really like for this story to go without romance alltogethe, as I think, that it doesn't really suit the character, even after future developments - same for my much preferred gl. (there is also the problem, that not everyone is actually into such novels). That made me a bit scared about her reactions to meeting Johny.

2022-11-14 23:16:01 +0000 UTCThank you. It is important to note, that Alexa herself only went so far as to make sure the date consultation could occur without any problems. Everything else was all Gina.

2022-11-14 21:15:50 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter. You've done an amazing job both in creating Alexa herself and the world she lives in. Personally I hope this story doesn't go a girls love route as that is not my cup of tea. But at the end of the day the important thing is to tell the story you want to tell. I did like how Alexa saw through the facade and healed Gina. Anyhow, great job.
