ALEXiThymiA: Chapter 30: Monday's Indoctrination

Monday’s Indoctrination
Nineteen. That was how many students had arrived for the orientation briefing given by Mr. Mackie. True to form, they were each given their sashes, denoting their powers, and their pin denoting their year.
At the same time Alexa was exchanging the rags of her old sash for a new one, where she transferred the placement of each pin.
A few things should be noted about the group of nineteen new students. Disciplined was the best word one could use to describe them. They were all quiet, attentive, and above all ready. Ready to do what, Mr. Mackie didn’t know, but they were ready for anything.
They each had the same three pins: one with a muscular guy running around, one with eyes glowing, and a third denoting personal healing. While these were not technically psychic powers, they did fit under the psychic phenomena category. Unfortunately, the reason why it fit there, was that the green side was to denote magic, which none of the girls had. The other side was to denote everything else.
“Here are your new pins as requested.” Mr. Mackie said, pulling out a bag and handing it over to Alexa.
Alexa for her part grabbed the bag and took out the contents and pasted them on the right side, the green side, as well.
This one was a big blue and ice white comet that had an arcing tail. This was used to denote her newest magic class Arcane.
All it took was her claiming she had this magic class at the maximum level and a quick invasive gaze by Mr. Mackie, for the school to confirm her new status as a Master Tier Arcanist.
This was perfect for Alexa, as it gave her the perfect reason to be here, at this time. With her new sash corrected, she proceeded to drape hers over her head.
As if mirroring every Alexa’s movement, the nineteen silent females all did the same. Then a fluffing of the hair, outside the sash, so that everyone’s hair was now draped over the sash. A few girls did not have to do this, but still felt the inexplicable need to play with their shortened hair while the others reduced the chance of overheating. Then they all pinned their ‘II’ pins to their chest.
With that, Alexa did a perfect 180-degree turn, complete with a toe dig into the ground. Then faced her class.
“Class, follow me. Do not get separated. If anyone tries anything on you, let me know, we will stop, and I will fix the situation.”
A slight pause as the girls never lost their intense stares on Alexa, as if looking away for even a moment would ensure their deaths.
Seeing that they all looked focused, Alexa nodded with approval. At that, the girls all seemed to visibly relax.
“Any questions?” Her voice was cold, but the girls somehow knew she wasn’t angry. No angry wasn’t the word, protective, she was protective of these girls. She was protective and all the girls simultaneously were thankful for and devoted to her for that very reason.
Silence.
For his part, Mr. Mackie was impressed, he had seen elite platoons of soldiers operate less efficiently.
“Follow me.” Alexa said as she exited the office. She got out walked twelve paces down the hallway, then had the girls file out to form two quick lines. Again, their movements were fluid and precise. No need to bark out orders, once a row of ten girls formed, a second line began forming forward until all the girls were in two neat lines.
Then they went through the hazing hall.
Silent.
Despite twenty students in all walking the halls, their feet were silent. Lead by Alexa who had taken point, she was the first to enter the wide-open corridor, where true to form so many students had all gathered to see the new Monday recruits get hazed.
Alexa looked to her left and saw that Steve Nickolich, or Steevie as he liked to be called, already in his spot recording. Alexa turned to him, like a predator who had noticed their prey. Steevie for his part flinched, as he was not prepared for the crazy girl to come talk with him. He did not know what that meant, but he didn’t want to find out. When that girl spoke, crazy stuff happened. She cursed an entire dungeon class, just so she could get a harder difficulty on a Tier II dungeon. The girl was unhinged, but man was she pretty.
“Joseph Eugene Dugan.” Alexa began by first calling out Joe Dugan, the man who clearly had his sights set on ambushing some of these females. As Joe Dugan was often seen as the leader of kids that Steve Nickolich belonged. Once again, Alexa used the Joe’s full name like she was summoning some minor demon from hell. But she didn’t stop with Joe. Instead, she continued summoning more minor demons of the school.
“Franklin Thomas Wright, Angelica Gloria Docker, come forward.”
With that, Alexa just called out the three meanest supers in the school. Three kids that were apparently all in attendance as they all stepped forward to meet the tall girl.
“Let me introduce myself.”
“Yeah, yeah, we get it. You’re a healer, big whoop.” The burly Senior Frank said.
Alexa just shook her head.
“I am the Sophomore class president. These students behind me are sophomores, my sophomores. As their president it is my job to ensure they are properly Indoctrinated, disciplined, and Integrated into this school. I am letting you know right now, that any signs of bully, hazing, or otherwise messing with my students will be seen as a direct provocation to me. Letting me know you do not think I am up to the task of instilling discipline. So, I ask you now. Do you think I am capable?” Alexa asked.
“Look, you might be…”
“Stop talking.” Alexa said.
“What?”
“I said stop talking.” Alexa said for the third time to Frank.
“You just said to…” Was all Frank got before he was sliced down.
After spending days in the Trials of Ascension, this action became second nature. First Alexa sent out four crisp Wind Blades. Then instantly while the blades were in the air, she shifted her focus to Healing the now eight surfaces. Four patches for the stubs on Frank’s body, and four to heal the discarded limbs on the ground. Alexa still wasn’t fast enough, as a faint trail of blood was released before the eight patches of skin could be healed.
Gasps.
Frank was in the air, but Alexa snaked out a hand to grab the senior under his jaw.
“I didn’t say to talk. I asked if you all thought I was capable of instilling discipline within my students, Franklin.” Alexa said, staring at the now paraplegic body in front of her.
“Know that your speaking, showed you doubted my capability. Do you still doubt my capability?” Alexa asked, staring at Frank and his hanging wobbling body.
Frank for his part just tried to shake his head.
“Girls.” Alexa turned to her class and held out four fingers. Through her Pack Mind bond, her intention was clear. The first four girls instantly broke off from the formation and went out to silently gather the boy’s limbs. Limbs that were then placed over the empty sockets. With a quick application of Healing magic, the severed appendages quickly reattached. Once the limb was reattached, the girl who picked up that limb dutifully went back to their spot in line and waited.
Frank eventually stood; his legs wobbly for a second as he mentally tried to, once again, get used to having his limbs fully attached.
“Will you be a problem?” Alexa asked, coldly.
Frank for his part looked visibly cowed. He tried to stand up straight, but then just shook his head.
With that Alexa had dismissed him to stand back with the other leaders, who had all been called out.
“So, I ask again, do any of you think you could do a better job than me?”
The three kids just shook their head. Joe already knew not to get on this girl’s bad side. Frank apparently either thought low of Joe. Or he was overly optimistic in his own capabilities. Little did he know, those magic patches, they meant a lot when it came to combat.
Silence.
Not even the onlookers spoke for fear of drawing Alexa’s attention to them.
“Good, know that I have picked you out as the three whose groups will be most likely to cause trouble for us. Should any of your pack bother us, not only will I talk to the perpetrator, but I will make sure that we speak as well. I offer you this first and last warning as a courtesy. I will not tell you how to run your classes, and you will not tell me how to run mine.”
The three leaders all just nodded, Frank had a hard time taking in the intense stare of the monster of a Sophomore before him.
With that, Alexa nodded.
Then as if some silent command was given, Alexa began moving forward, at the same time her entire class also began moving forward in lock-step precision.
“Wha.” Was all some people managed to say, as they saw the fact that the new class, all sophomores apparently, were all smoking hot. It was like someone took the best and prettiest girls from every high school in America and threw them all here, in this class. No wonder Alexa was so protective of them. They were every upper classman’s dream. An entire class of new women to choose from. The only problem was, they were now off limits.
The group made their way forward, until one turned her head to the left. Then after a second, recognition passed her gaze. As soon as she had this moment of recognition, the entire procession stopped. Then as one, every set of eyes turned to look at the exact spot where the one girl had stared.
The girl was looking at a group of male students.
“It’s him.” The first girl, Julie Swinton, said, holding up her hand to point out one particularly attractive male.
At that, all the others turned and pointed.
With that recognition, other girls also pointed. The boy for his part began to move and try to get away.
Blur.
One second, Alexa Thyme, sophomore class president, was at the front of her formation, leading her class out of this hazing hall. The next she was standing in front of a student. Well, she wasn’t just standing in front of the student. She held the student by a Telekinetic grasp, off the ground.
By this point the group of students who had been near their classmate suddenly dispersed, wanting nothing to do with getting in Alexa’s way.
“Explain.” The one word was all Alexa needed to say, for the first girl to speak.
“That was the boy who invited me to the party, where it happened.” Julie said.
“Me too.” A second girl said.
“Me as well.” A third confirmed.
“What? I’ve never seen you all in my life.” The boy said, as sweat began pouring down his face. Alexa didn’t even need her Detect Lies perk, to realize this boy was clearly lying
“Mr. Mackie.” Alexa said, her voice calm and even. Like she was talking to someone in the room.
For her part she was, as Mr. Mackie appeared instantly and grabbed hold of the floating student.
“It is okay Ms. Thyme, I have him.” Mr. Mackie said.
With that Alexa let go of her Telekinetic grip that was holding the boy in place.
“Wait, Mr. Mackie was here?”
“He is always here.” Alexa said.
With that, a shock passed Mr. Mackie’s face. It was a look that was almost too fast to notice, but Alexa identified it easily.
“Why is he here?” Another student asked.
At that Mr. Mackie just chuckled. “I stay nearby to make sure nothing gets too out of hand. Speaking of which, Ms. Thyme would you make sure my floor is cleaned by the time I get back.”
At that Alexa just turned to Frank. “I am sure that Franklin Thomas Wright will be more than happy to clean it up, it was after all his own misunderstanding that led to his mess.”
Frank, who looked like he was in the process of either having rip away pants, or long leg warmers with matching booty shorts just turned to Alexa. Their eyes locked, an unspoken rite of dominance filled the air. Then a second later Frank nodded. That was it, that was all that was needed to show the task would be taken care of, by Frank.
The matter of the blood stains taken care of. Mr. Mackie turned his attention to the squirming boy, “come now Mr. Graves, I believe the TSI will want to have a word with you.”
“What, come on, I didn’t do anything.”
Mr. Mackie just shook his head. “Ms. Thyme. Let it be known that the TSI agents will likely need to talk to you and your classmates as well, about this incident.”
Alexa nodded. The intent behind the statement was clear. Get your class of students out of here, as Mr. Mackie will no longer be able to watch over everything.
With that Alexa walked to the front of her formation and once again her two rows of students quickly formed back up and followed her out of the hallway.
Clang!
The sound of double metal doors slamming shut was the sign that the procession of Sophomore class girls had left. The minute the door was closed, a collective gasp was released.
Stevie who had been recording everything, figured this was akin to how dinosaurs must have felt when they realized a Tyrannosaurus was crossing their paths. Hold still, and hope something else more interesting catches its attention.
“Yo, Steve, get me a copy of that vid.”
“Me too.”
Stevie nodded, of course, making sure to post it to the shame site. He did not want to give that scary girl any form of a reason to talk to him. No, he liked his arms and legs right where they were.
On the other side of the hall, people were talking to booty shorts Frank.
“Yo, Fankie, you must have kahunas like an elephant. You took that attack and didn’t even scream.”
“Yeah, I know I would have been balling in pain. But you took it and just stared her down.”
“Yeah, you looked stupid doing so, but you did it.”
Frank for his part just nodded, as a slight shiver went down his back at the memory of what happened.
What he didn’t know, was that Alexa had made sure to send out a healing wave of energy to Frank before the incident began. This cut off his nerve endings and made it, so the pain didn’t register within his brain at all. Alexa had done the same the previous week for her encounter with Joe. Alexa hoped that the visual component would be enough to dissuade anyone from attempting to legitimately haze her or her classmates.
Also in both cases, the amount of time while injured was less than a minute. That was a key point as Alexa didn’t want to actually torture anyone, but rather she wanted to spread a message. That message, which was received loud and clear was that the Sophomore Class was now off limits from all hazing activities.
Angel, or Angelica Gloria Docker as Alexa noted, was glad she had for managed to keep her mouth shut, for once. Also, she realized that this Alexa girl was on a whole other level. With that in mind, she made sure to send out a text with a link to the two videos.

Thank you for bringing it up. Glad I did leave enough clues.

2022-11-16 13:14:58 +0000 UTCI am so intrigued to see what happens to these girls next. The pack mentality and their deep bond to Alexa cannot be a healthy thing. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
The Lost Pages
2022-11-16 13:14:08 +0000 UTCI picked up on the referemces just fine. Maybe call it out overtly in a later chapter? But for this one between the badges, the pack mind and them calling out the one boy, there are plenty of clues.
The Lost Pages
2022-11-16 13:12:35 +0000 UTCAhh, that makes much more sense. I just completely missed that

2022-11-16 12:36:08 +0000 UTCThere weren't. These were the werewolves that Alexa changed. It was noted that they were all sophomores and that Alexa had a plan for them. Last time she was with TSI Johnston. Should it add more of that reference material?

2022-11-16 12:34:19 +0000 UTCHi, first of all, I really like this story and it’s characters. But I fell like between this chapter and the last one there is one missing. Before this chapter it sounded like there were basically no other sophomores and also it feels like no one reacted to Alexa doing groundbreaking stuff by surviving the second trial of ascension.
