ALEXiThymia: Chapter 31: The One Guy In A Sea of Untouchable Beauties

Chapter 31

The One Guy In A Sea of Untouchable Beauties

Most guys would be jealous of Luke Thyme. In fact, most people were jealous of Luke Thyme currently. He had arguably one of the best classroom settings possible. With a male to female ratio of students that was very favorable. That ratio of course was twenty to one. Yes, twenty of the hottest, most attractive females, to little lone Luke.

That was a thing, now that they had increased their number of students ten-fold, the Sophomores now had enough students to create warrant their own classroom, teacher, and independent curriculum.

The only problem, well actually there were several little problems that added up. The most glaring problem was that Luke’s sister somehow became the class president. Odder still the entire class seemed to worship her, openly. Not from the shadows like Luke tried to deny.

Then there was the fact that she was here, Julie Swinton. She was charming, smart, funny, and generally a lot of fun to be around. The only problem was, he broke it off as soon as things started to get serious.

He didn’t know why he always did this to himself, broke things off before they got too personal. In his mind he told himself he was doing so for Alexa, because Alexa couldn’t deal with the addition of a new female. But Alexa could deal with anything, that was the great and terrible thing about her. Nothing seemed to bother her. Well, nothing seemed to bother her, because nothing did bother her.

At least, he thought nothing bothered her, until he saw the way she absolutely took these girls under her wing.

When they went out, it was like they were suddenly in drill sergeant mode, twenty angry feminists and all. Then the minute they got to the classroom, everyone began to relax, and it was like looking at a classroom of regular high school sophomores. Well A class or regular sophomores and Alexa.

Alexa for her part never changed.

But that was the odd part, when they left the classroom, it was like they all became copies of Alexa. Perfect emotionless copies of Alexa.

Luke still couldn’t figure it out. To make matters worse, his sister made it a point to sit down next to him. Though oddly enough, this seemed to force more of the attractive females to sit next to and around Luke. Not because they wanted to get close to the only male in the classroom, but because they wanted to sit closer to Alexa. Sitting two desks away, even if separated by Luke was better than sitting three desks away and all that.

Still Luke noticed that Julie and four other women that looked vaguely familiar all made sure to stay on Alexa’s left side, the side furthest away from Luke as possible.

Then he realized his mistake. He had also gone on dates with the other four sophomores as well.

This had to be Luke’s luck. In a classroom of gorgeous women, all of whom seemed to be single. The hottest one was off limits because she was his sister. Then five of the remaining nineteen were off limits because he ended things horribly with them due to his own commitment issues. Then the other fourteen, Luke glanced around. The other fourteen girls just seemed to look through Luke like he wasn’t even there.

There was one girl who Luke could feel her eyes on him. Then when he looked, he would turn to find that Julie would just glare at him with those hazel covered eyes. Gods, even when she scowled, she looked cute. Why did he break things off with her again? Something about her being in North and too much of a trouble to meet up with every week.

After ten minutes of silence, a female teacher finally came barreling into the classroom.

“Sorry, sorry. I didn’t realize I got called upon so quickly to teach.” The teacher said, wheeling in a large cart full of teaching materials and aides.

“Now I understand that we have a class president assigned already?”

With that Alexa stood up.

“Correct, Ms. Tutlidge, this class of twenty one students. Twenty females and one male, are all present and accounted for.” Alexa said in her calm monotone, then executed a bow.

Luke for a second was surprised that Alexa already knew the teacher’s name, but then just blinked away that concern. Of course, she would know the teacher’s name. She probably knew everything about this school.

“My, my, how formal. I love it. Great enthusiasm. Let’s see if we can keep it going through the end.”

Luke looked to the teacher like she was mental. But apparently that had been enough for Alexa, as she used that as her notice to sit down.

Looking at the teacher, she was young, with large glasses and had one art of magic unlocked. Luke himself was too far away to see the type of magic she could use, or the tier level. He looked to Alexa and thought about asking her if she knew, but then decided he didn’t want to do so on the first day of class.

As dad said, when you look at someone’s sash you are eying them up and mentally seeing if you can take them in a battle. That was the only reason for these sashes.

“Since this is your first day. I will give you a little lesson that I didn’t learn until it was much too late.” Ms. Tutlidge said, as she suddenly took on a serious tone.

“Unfortunately, there is bullying, hazing, and worse that can happen here. As sophomores you all are likely the largest demographic to be targeted.”

Snicker.

A few of the girls began snickering to themselves.

“I mean it. I take it by the fact that you are laughing, that you managed to somehow avoid this unfortunate tradition, but it is something that can haunt you for the rest of your lives. I just want you to know that should anything happen; you can come to me, and I will take care of it.” The mousy looking woman said.

Laughter.

At that, a few of the larger personalities began laughing.

“What? This is serious!” Ms. Tutlidge said, stomping her foot to get everyone’s attention.

“Oh, we know. But they’d have to get through the class rep first.” Julie was the first to speak up.

“Girls. She might be strong enough to divert one attempt, but she can’t be everywhere.” Ms. Tutlidge advised.

Snicker.

The girls just snickered at the idea. At this Ms. Tutlidge was about to get angry when Alexa pointed at the door. The door was somehow ajar, had the teacher left it open when she pulled in her equipment? She must have.

Ms. Tutlidge seeing the gesture for what it was, decided to go over to close the door. Then she nearly pissed herself in fright.

Thump.

Ms. Tutlidge bounced into something hard.

At that a slender man appeared right before Ms. Tutlidge, his illusion of invisibility instantly fading. Seeing the man, Ms. Tutlidge managed to scream and jump backwards at the same time. Fortunately, the man was a lot faster than he looked and managed to catch the falling professor before she fell more than a few inches.

Then with a gentle tug, the man pulled her so that her balance was back on the balls of her feet.

“Good morning Ms. Tutlidge, sorry for the intrusion.” The voice of Mr. Mackie said.

Now that Ms. Tutlidge had a moment, she could see that this was in fact the dean of discipline and security, right here in front of her.

“It would appear that Ms. Thyme’s attempts to warn you of my intrusion went poorly. That is on me. See I needed to make this a discrete visit.” Mr. Mackie said, bowing to the mousy instructor.

The instructor for her part just blushed at the sight of Mr. Mackie. It was clear to Luke that there was something there, at least from Ms. Tutlidge’s perspective.

“I wanted you to know that soon a number of TSI agents will come here and ask some more questions.”

“Questions? Are they in trouble?”

“These students no. At least not in the way you are likely thinking. They are possibly at the heart of something much larger.” He began, but then paused. “Also, I suggest you watch these videos first to see why the girls are laughing.”

Ping.

“Wait, this is to that shame site.” Ms. Tutlidge said, apparently instantly identifying the page, as her features grew flush.

“If you tell me who it was, I will fix it.” Alexa said.

“What?” Ms. Tutlidge asked, suddenly confused by Alexa’s cold statement.

Luke even had to look to make sure he understood what Alexa was talking about.

“You clearly identified the shame site, meaning you were likely on it. If you tell me who. I will take care of it.”

“Take care of it?” Ms. Tutlidge asked, her voice incredulous.

Alexa for her part made a waving gesture. With that the girls who had been avoiding their phones entirely suddenly pulled them out and began scrolling.

“Look for four to five years ago.” Alexa said.

“Four to five years?” Ms. Tutlidge asked.

Mr. Mackie for his part just watched Alexa work.

“Yes, you recently graduated college. Where you applied for a job teaching and got one here as an assistant. You are smart, meaning you likely got your degree faster than most. Which places you at having first been here four or five years ago as a pre-awakened Senior.” Alexa said, giving off the details that she saw.

Ms. Tutlidge looked like she wanted to protest, but then found herself biting back.

“Found it.” Julie calls out.

“Same.”

Teaching new girl to heel.

“No, it is Teaching new girl to beg.

“Stop that!” Ms. Tutlidge said, tears forming in her eyes.

“Enough, send them to me.” Alexa said, holding up a hand. Then with that the girls all sent different links to Alexa’s phone.

Then as one, they all put their phones down on their desks.

Alexa turned from the links, then to the teacher. Then she turned to look at Mr. Mackie. “This is why you were hired?” Alexa asked.”

“Among other reasons, but yes. As you expected, it was to cut down on those types of incidents.” Mr. Mackie said.

Ms. Tutlidge for her part looked angry. Well equal parts angry and sad.

“Don’t worry. I will stop him.” Alexa said. Her voice cold and monotone. If no one knew any better, they might swear she was being sarcastic. Luke however felt a shiver of cold dread going down his spine as he had seen that intensity in his sister’s gaze quite often and knew what it meant. She was like a bloodhound on the scent and would stop at nothing to get her objective.

“Hah. Good luck. He is Commander’s son. Good luck getting that.” Ms. Tutlidge said.

With that Alexa just turned to her left to Julie. They locked gazes, then with a nod from Alexa, Julie was off typing away at her phone.

Then the girls around Julie also came alive.

He watched as Luke realized Alexa had somehow managed to turn all of these former werewolves into a botnet army that would do anything at her command. The sheer power of that, made him shutter for a moment.

With Julie and her team on the far side at work. Alexa turned her gaze back to Ms. Tutlidge, who just looked on at the whole thing with confusion.

“Don’t worry Ms. Tutlidge, you are one of us now.”

Luke saw a few head bobs in acknowledgment from the girls. All who were looking straight forward with their eyes locked on Ms. Tutlidge.

“Wait, stop. You can’t be serious.” Ms. Tutlidge began.

“I think from a liability standpoint I need to extricate myself from this situation.” Mr. Mackie said. “I merely wished to inform you, to not be surprised with TSI operatives take over this classroom for a bit.”

“Wait, take over the classroom? Won’t they just take the students they need away?”

“Normally, yes, but in this particular case it might be more expedient for everyone to level set their understandings of everyone.” Mr. Mackie said.

Then with that he gave a slight bow and left.

Ms. Tutlidge looked at the man’s retreating back in confusion for a moment. Then turned back to face the class. Alexa of course was the first one to act.

“You are a TSI operative?”

“What, how did you… no.” Ms. Tutlidge said.

At that Alexa just nodded her understanding.

It was less than an hour later when TSI Captain Johnston herself came to personally talk to the classroom.

“Good. Lacy, hope you enjoy your new placement.” Johnston said to the young teacher.

“Wait, you were the reason I was called to be a teacher?” Ms. Tutlidge asked.

“This was what you wanted, a chance to teach and inspire students?” Johnston asked.

At that Ms. Lacy Tutlidge just nodded.

“Well yeah, but…”

“Well good. This class should be more than capable of passing all Sophomore class requirements, which will make you look like a genius, which you are.” She said the part able being more than capable by locking gazes with Luke. Luke sheepishly nodded his head at the gaze, but otherwise decided to remain silent.

“Thank you but.”

“But nothing. Now, I need to talk to my consultants over here. But feel free to listen in on the case details that these girls can provide.” Johnston said, signaling the students who identified the same male from this morning.

With that, Johnston then turned her attention to Alexa and Luke, then using her two fingers to further point out the twins, she then then turned her hand to point to the far side of the room. The gesture was obvious in its meaning. Go to the side of the room, I have something I need to talk to you about.

“Now I need you two to be…” Johnston began but was quickly cut off by Alexa.

“Captain, if I may ask a favor first?” Alexa began.

“A favor?” The Captain was clearly intrigued, as she was still trying to figure out how this girl, Luke’s sister, worked.

“Yes, could you look into this person for me?” Alexa asked, while handing over a folded piece of paper.

Johnston just read the parchment, then turned her attention back to Alexa.

“This is Commander’s son; you know that right?”

“Yes.”

“Just what do you plan to do with this information?”

“Personal.”

“Personal?”

Alexa just nodded.

Johnston just looked at Alexa, then a faint golden glow filled the Captain’s eyes for a moment, before it ultimately disappeared.

“Fine, but on one condition…”

Maybe "to warrant their own classroom" would be better, than "to create warrant their own classroom"

I don't know if it would be necessary. The dean managed to somehow confirm her arcane magic skill after only looking at her for a moment.
