I can guarantee that if 'Pixels' had been good, the movie would have made SOOOO much money. The premise is there, the production values are there and the audience is more than willing to pay for it...but only when it's good.
If anyone other than Adam Sandler's crew got ahold of 'Pixels', it would be making money hand-over-fist. Hopefully Hollywood takes note of that.
