Change to 'Film Brits #15' - New Context
Added 2017-01-31 13:23:37 +0000 UTCDear Patrons,
You should have recieved an e-mail the other day containing the early MP3 of Episode 15 of the Film Brits Podcast. The podcast goes public to other listeners later today but I just thought I'd inform you about an alteration.
Early on in the podcast before I introduced the "Share the Love" segment I say that the world is not a great place no matter where you live. And as a slight aside I say "Except for Canada, because Canada is awesome".
While the podcast was recorded a couple of hours after the U.S.A's Muslim Ban (I'm calling it that because that's what it essentially is), it was recorded and sent to you Patrons the day before the Mosque shootings that took place in Quebec, Canada, killing 6 people and wounding 19 others*.
I will edit out the reference to Canada in the public version of the podcast, because with this new context it may come across as mean-spirited when that was clearly not my intent. Due to the timings, no offense was intended and I apologise if anyone listening to the podcast after the shooting who felt like I was being horrible to anyone affected by this act of home-grown terrorism.
Some of you may think that I'm being silly, or over-reacting but I wanted to be emotionally true to myself and when listening back over Film Brits #15 I felt uncomfortable letting that (at the time) flippant comment go out to more listeners. If, for some reason, you'd like an MP3 of the slightly altered version of Film Brits #15, please message me and I'll send you an MP3.
Thank you for your continued support, I hope you folks continue to share the love and my thoughts are with those in Canada and those who are being persecuted due to President Trump's Muslim Ban.
From,
Trilbee
